Like the title says. I live in Detroit. Looking to get away in May for a few days to a week. Taking a buddy with me. Not sure where to go? Michigan is pretty boring. I don't want to fly, I really like to drive. So something in driving distance. I hope this makes sense I am really stoned and it does not to me. the walls are melting. i have to go.
Well.. personally I love Michigan. I think its a great state as far as vacationing and outdoors stuff. Personally I would recommend going to the Upper Peninsula and checking out the waterfalls or going fishing or camping. I love the atmosphere of small towns up there. But you mentioned not wanting to drive too far so.. the casinos are a good idea. Or you could check out the sleeping bear dunes. Theres plenty of cool places in Michigan.

Go up north bro. About 4 hours north of Detroit is real nice. I went to a place i wanna say about a hour past caddilac before it was real nice in the boonies.

If its warm enough, Silver Beach at St. Joseph's on Lake Michigan is a great vacation. Giant sandy white beach with a big pier, not too crowded. First time I went there I was incredibly high, first time smoking in many months, and it was an incredible experience. Lake Huron is closer to Detroit and very nice on its own, but the beach on the west side cannot be beat. Too bad it is 40 F outside today, otherwise I'd drive over there right now...
Yeah I know what you mean about it being boring. I know some people posted about going up north, and yeah i agree it is beautiful up there, really quite a change from the city. you dont even have to go to the upper penisula, just a few hours up. there are some pretty sweet sand dunes that you can run down if you are so inclined. you run so fast man they are so steep...lots of fun. hmm good luck, lol
