Where do you sit on the issue of pipe screens?

    Finally got another pack of some screens a few weeks ago, been used in both my pipe and the bong. My only issue with having them in the pipe is while you don't get scoobs, nothing gets sucked through at all. I happen to like smoking resin when I'm dry, hate all you want, but I do. It seems with the screen, I can consume a vast amount of ganj over a while and barely have accumulated any. Same goes for the bong, for the most part. Another annoyance for me is the fact that they tend to clog up after 4-5 bowls, plus I kinda hate trying to clean them out when the bowl is cashed. So, really, it kinda seems like their best for resin or hash, to me. What do you think?

    It's just never been necessary for me.

    The only time I've bothered with a screen is with the occasional piece that has too big of a hole and you kinda need one unless you wanna suck ash down your throat.

    But in most cases, I don't see the point.

    I like metal screens for most pipes.Glass pipes tend to have a small hole, but I smoke ceramic, stone and sometimes wood pipes and they tend to have bigger holes and I tend to not like sucking in nasty bits. For a bong I used to go natural, but I've got some glass screens I've been messing around with.

    If you buy glass that made properly then You won't need a screen...

    That's usually why I even use them in the first place, is the disproportionate size of the hole. Also, it's not always due to it being made improperly, some blowers make it that way on purpose, for 'party' size bowls and such. Problem being, I don't always have the stash for that. I feel like sometimes with some screens I've smoked through, they add a funny taste to the hit.

    Honestly they're an annoyance. Never liked them.
    However they have their uses, for me, i might use one if the hole inside the bowl is too large.
    My buddy used to use them all the time, I'd always throw it away discreetly haha.
    He eventually stopped using them too.

    If you pack bowls correctly, it should be fine.

    You see, this has always been my argument. If done right, they smoke right, plain and simple. I've also had many people argue with me that it's impossible. Also have had people try to tell me stupid shit like inhaling scoobs can cause horrific lung infections and shit like that. I'm not saying I'm the worlds' biggest fan of scoobs, don't get me wrong, but they won't kill you, either.

    I use screens every single time. I don't get how people grind weed and not use screens, your wasting like 25% of a bowl. I agree tho its extremely cleaning a screen when high but I still use em and my pipes/bowl still get a lol resiny

    I grind up my weed for bowls and have never sucked any through. Ever it's all about how the piece is made. If you buy some cheap China glass with the hole pushed through side ways and the width of a straw that's on you. Properly made glass doesn't need screens.

    ehh if I have to use a 25 cent screen in a 20 dollar piece, I'm still getting as high as a 400 GoG bong with a small hole.

    None of my bowls are larger than half a straw width for the hole but I still use screens

    Im a fan of the brass and silver screens. At my lhs they were like .40 for 5, so i didnt mind when theyd tear or break. Just preference

    Well for the metal screens they are usually great for those small metal bowls with an unscrewable top you can usually get at gas stations. They're cheap idk why you would wash them, usually you get holes in them after a lot of use.
    Anyways, I use a glass screen for my bubbler because the hole is pretty large. I just prefer smoking out of glass you can debate whether smoking out of metal is bad for you or not but glass you know is fine. Plus you can reuse the glass screens until you accidentally break them. I got 20 of them for like $5 on amazon.

    im not a pipe smoker unless im trying hard to conserve. On my bong I use a bowl w/ built in screen. works well.
