When to turn on the hps?

    Ok so my kids had their 2 week birth day today.

    <ill take pics tomorrow>
    But i have a 1000w hps just sitting in my room im
    dieing to use it when i can i turn that baby on?

    O btw current conditions
    5 kids under 6 26watt cfl's

    hey! Im doing an entire grow under 5 26w CFL's...btw U should turn on the HPS when they're about 4", or when they're on their 3rd node...

    Hmm, I would wait one more week, then put them under the HPS. Make sure though, that you have a LARGE distance between the light and the plants - like 3 or 4 FEET to begin with, then gradually raise the plants or lower the light to make the distance smaller. I killed a few a while back by just chucking seedlings 24" under a HPS.

    Or if your ballast will run an MH bulb...even better! Wow 1000W I hope you have the space and ventilation!
