Newb here. This site has been great to help me get going. I have an indoor grow (4'x8' booth) with 15 plants, half WW and the other NL. Started with HPS but had real problems alleviating the heat so I switched to LED just 2 weeks in. The plants jumped when I switched to LED. Some of that may have been the heat. Im using 3 blackstar 240w LEDs. The guy recommended 4 but I just don't have the bucks. They seem to be responding very well to what I have. The plants are 5 weeks old now and about 20" average ht. Just one is much taller, 30"? I've read that you should start turning the lights down when the plants are 1/2 the size they are expected to get. Just looking for some guidance and or clarification on this. Thanks in advance.
You can choose to flower whenever. Judging by the height of your plants, and the space aloud for those plants, I'm sure you can figure out about the best time to switch to flower. Remember, plants that are flowering can potentially grow three times their size during flowering. I'd say at 20 inches tall, you could switch to flower and get a really nice harvest. Best of luck!
Thanks Makizushi! Yeah, I think it might be good to start the flowering soon when taking into consideration the growth during flowering and the amount of space I have. I do notice the room shrinking day by day as these plants grow. Im sure I'll lose a few when I can determine the sex, hopefully not too many. MMMMmmm....Sushi....it's good stuff!
i like to wait 2 months or over 2 feet tall before i flower (from seed of course), or u can wait for pre-flowers, but this can take 2-4 months... if u flower before they mature, yield can be affected
