When to transplant/water/fertilize seedlings?

Discussion in 'Absolute Beginners' started by JTW, Sep 24, 2001.

  1. Just like the subject says. My seedlings are planted in a seed starting potting mix in 2 inch deep containers. The plants all have a nice set of spiked leaves growing in and when I do transplant they will go into 4 inch square pots. What is a good n-p-k for a starting fertilizer and when should I start using it? Should I keep the dirt moist at all times or let it dry out before watering? Thanks for the help.
  2. Hey woddy hows it goin? Thanks for the post it was very informative. My seedling are almost 2 weeks old and they have been doing good until now. The leaves on two of the seedlings have slowly been getting lighter, almost yellowish now. There are a couple very small brown spots on the leaves of one of my healthiest plants. Growth hasn't really slowed, what could be causing this? I move my flouros away a bit more, how close do you put them to small plants?
