hello all! so right now I started some seeds a week ago in an aerogarden and they are about 2 inches tall. The aerogarden has 2 cfl's not sure what wattage. I have a 400watt HPS and was wondering when would be the best time to start using it? I will also be transplanting them to netpots with rockwool into 2 gallon buckets and was wondering when the optimal time to do this would be?
As far as your HPS's go use them when you go into 12/12 flowering cycle.. since you started like a week ago.. depending on how big you want them and your space.. usually its about a month to month and a half.. but can be as early as 3 weeks or 2 even..but thats mostly for SOG grows.. but yeah use the HPS when you go into flowering.. hope this helped out mang.
I started using my 250w HPS about 17 days after germination. The more light the better. Just make sure you don't burn the plants.
thanks for the replies guys! After a lot of research on HPS's and comparing to my first grown where the plants were tall and lanky (most likely from using a HPS the whole way through) I have decided to buy a MH conversion bulb for veg. This light can be used on seedlings correct?
If you've got an HID light, use it! As long as it isn't too close to your plants, they will always benefit from the larger amount of light.
