At how many weeks should I start 12/12 and force into flowering? i germ on sept 1st... and now plants are on like 7th leaf set only about 4-5" tall though... just wondering maybe around12" ?
Wait until there at least 6'' to 8'' inches tall. Dont forget the plant will double and even triple in height by the end of flowering. What type of light are you using? Might be keeping the plant to far from the light. With any neon, the plant can be up to 2'' inches from the light no problem, specially the T8 neon tube! And the other possibility is that your not feeding enough nutrients!! How many times did you feed it and with what?
This might be the most asked question I've seen. First off, USE THE SEARCH BUTTON. Second, Plants do not have a certain time to harvest. You just need to grow the plant big enough to support buds and to grow a root system. (Veg for 1-2 months, then switch to 12/12). You're able to go straight into 12/12, but you'll have a really small plant. Because the longer you veg, the bigger your harvest. Obviously. Don't judge the plant by it's height.
He has to consider how much space in height he has. I know if I veg a plant for 2 months its going to be 6 feet tall...hehehe! A plant will easily double, triple and in my case even quadruple once its placed in 12h/12h You have the learn how the plant will react the first time is a guess then you go from there! And the last thing is the types of light your using makes a huge difference!
Besides researching, a grower needs to know each strain and how it is going to grow. Obvisouly to know this you are going to grow each atrain. I have four strains growing and they are all different. All have different needs and nutes. If you are growing SOG, than you are going to grow for two weeks and switch to 12/12. The concept is to grow more buds in shorter time than to grow a large plant. 12/12 is on the grower. If you want a large yield, grow big plants, if not than grow smaller plants. All of this depends on the space that you have to grow in.
Ok ppl Im not growing for highest potency or biggest harvest. Just a lil something to do and maybe get a lil bud from. the lights are t12 floros, miracle grow potting soil. lights are on 24/7. and the seeds were just some mids-bag seed. thanks for the input i believe when my plants reach about 12" and are 1 month older i will switch lighting to 12/12
Miracle grow soil will kill your plants. Unless it's the organic garden soil with no time release nutes.
awesome... they seem to be thriving right now... so im going to say they'll be fine yes I realize that they are time released and have not taken effect yet, but a lil water will flush them fine
Actually, unless you COMPLETLEY wash that dirt out, any water you add, will mix with the nutes, and feed the plant. So, every time you add water, you're feeding the plant. (which is bad)
