Ok, I've got one plant at about 3.5 weeks from seed, it's about five inches tall now and is developing small little leafs at its node regions. I want to clone to force flower and see what sex it is, but I need to know when to clone. How many leaves should a cutting have on it? It's the only thing I couldn't find in Green's Grow Bible. plz let me know, thanks.
hey how are you going? lol. well im not exactly the pro at this but ive been reading up. well if your going to clone i would wait till you plant is fully matured and is budding make sure its a female as your going to clone. you can harvest it first or cut of your clones during this time( make sure your plant is fully grown). or you can use a paper bag putting it on for 12 hrs then taking it off to froce it to flower and to determine what sex it is. well thats all i have to say hope it makes sense as im really tired lol and i gotta study peace da_buds
I have forced flowered plants when they were between 8 to 12 inches tall. I have attached a pic that might give you a better idea of the size of clones. I.B.Token
uhh, that pic shows plants that look a touch tall, i thought you could clone in a 1.5 X 1.5 inch rockwool cube and the cutting only had to be 3 to 5 in. in length, not 8 to 12 in. But i see that you only have a few sets of leaves on those clones so that pretty much answers my question . . . uh, sort of. thanks
dude, the mother mustve matured first, which means u want alternating nodes on the plant before taking clones. always cut 1 inch longer than u need, say 3 nodes, keep 1 underground and 2 above ground, slice the leaves in half (big 1`s) so the roots dont hav to support such a big leaf area. hope this helps oh btw, the bigger the clone, the harder it will b to root. always take ya clones preferbly from the bottom of the plant, they root easiar
