When to retire Mother plants?

  1. So, I have two mothers that are probably 10months old. They’re both over 3ft tall and the main stems are well over 2” diameter. One is 100% indica, the other a hybrid. However, they’re too tall for the grow area and the main stems are so thick all the way to the top from all the topping and pruning that the newer growth starts about half way up.

My issue is there isn’t much more room for any new growth below the main canopy because it’s been cloned and pruned back so many times.

When do you retire your mothers?

I do not know if these mothers can produce good clones any longer as the growth is at the top and they’ve slowed down drastically in producing good clone sites.
