when to harvest

wait till 80-85% of the hairs on the plant are turned brownish then harvest the little bitches but remember 2 weeks before harvesting DONT USE FERTS!!!! thats my advice atleast its a good thing to do when harvesting in my mind but if anyone else has their 2 sense im sure youll get it show some pics of your stanky boodah!

 

^that method is not effective. Using pistils (hairs) for when to harvest doesn't always work. The only effective way is using a microscope to check the trichomes. 80% amber is too much for my tastes. Most people harvest at 50% cloudy and 50% amber but i prefer 75% cloudy 25% amber.

 

with 7 years of growing..... and trying different techniques of harvesting....and hearing other peoples techniques on this.... the best way to do it is clip each bud off as its ready, like most people say wait till 75% of the trichomes are amber. dont just cut the whole plant , remember, each bud as its ready, because many of the buds will not be the same, but this should only take a few days until all the buds are off of the plant. 7 years of experience my ass. 75% is too much IMO, most people don't let them go further than 50/50. If you want a REAL couchlock/tired feeling then harvest at 50/50, i prefer 25% amber/75% cloudy.

 

i kno i wont be able to wait that long but i want to taste weed that has 100% amber triches i think that would be KILLER.

 

If you don't want any couchlock feeling you could harvest at 100% cloudy. I occasionally harvest at 100% cloudy (no amber). Just make sure they are all cloudy and not clear.

 

$10 microscope from The Source goes up to 100X works great for checking trichomes. Then when you think it's done wait a week....

It's personal preference. The numbers that are being thrown around are all right for that personal grower.

You can eyeball the trichomes with your loupe (yeah, it's the trichomes, not the pistils that turn cloudy) and pick an arbitrary point to harvest....Or you could take a test bud every now and then (50% cloudy, then again at 75% cloudy, etc.) and pick when it's right for you to harvest.

I never said he had to harvest at that certain time dipshit. It's personaly preference, i'm just saying most people don't harvest at 75% amber, so him telling him that most people harvest at 75% amber is wrong. when someone is wrong, i am going to correct them.
