When to harvest/start flush?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Tokeycones, Feb 15, 2019.

  1. Fellow growers..any ideas/tips on choosing a harvest time without checking trichs as i have tool too at the moment and by the time i get one i fear i may have missed my window to flush. still very green at moment though no fade but havn't cut nutes yet i am first time grower not sure if this causes the fade or not , purps coming thru so i figiure thats some sign of maturing its grandaddy purp

Ok mate, so about 8 weeks into flower....
I would say you will have at least another 2 - 3 weeks to go !
I wouldn't go by pistils.. Mine are 6 weeks into flower, with loads of amber.
You certainly have time to purchase a jewellers loupe mate - It really is the only sure fire way of knowing.
I would estimate starting your flush around week 9 - 10.
    Good luck pal.

  5. 2-3 weeks? most indica strains run 56-65 days man cheers hope you're not right haha :p

  6. The flowering period for indica strains is typically around 8 weeks. If you're growing indica, you can expect your plants to be in flower for 8-12 weeks.

    Get that jewellers loupe mate

  7. looks like theyre all milky white.. 2 weeks is probably right pal some will be turning amber soon or they might already be starting..from that point its about two weeks till they have matured.. but you can harvest earlier but you might get alot less yield so id definitely buy a lobe or really try and zoom in on your pictures and have a good look.

  11. You start counting days when you see pistels not when you flip to 12/12.

  12. Lol. I hope the wrong person don’t see this post! Start of a good debate! I think MOST say the exact opposite. My thought. Makes since. And reason why they say start day of flip is Bc it’s “dummy proof”. But then it’s said breeders go by day of flip so that what we need to do. And the reason our go longer is Inferior grow set up/skills then the breeder

  13. I start counting flowering period from flip day but always add a couple of weeks on top of that!

  14. That's like saying I start counting 2 weeks after is see pistels but subtract 2 weeks?

  15. ALL breeders will tell you to count from first pistels, there is no debate.

  16. Lol no. The breeders times are with like 1000w PERFECT environment lvls. Zero issues PERFECT feeding schedule etc etc. which not many ppl have. Without that same set up or better then breeders u r not going to match their time frame! What on earth would make u think if the ppl u buy seeds from say start day 1 from flip that starting 7-14d after would be correct?! Urs take longer Bc u don’t have a perfect grow op

  17. Good maths mate :)
Like @ZEROBS said, there's a lot of debate around this pal - Each grower has their own preference.

  18. Lol. Would u like be to go to a half dozen seed bank sites and c&p the BREEDERS instructions? I bet anything 99% say start from day of flip

  19. Email any breeder and they will tell you that flowering times start day 1 of seeing pistels and then you can start counting.

  20. I do agree mate. That works fine but so does the other way. Each to their own. What ever works best.
