I started a DWC with two 105 watt fluoros (actual wattage, not incandescent equivalent) and five babies about a week and a half ago (that's when they sprouted). I had six plants, but one keeled over and died four days after sprouting. A couple are moving right along, but a few others are pretty stagnant. Almost all of them have had their first seedling leaves crumple up and die, although they have 2 or 3 good pairs of the serrated "adult" leaves. Now, I'm waiting on my nutrients to come in the mail, so I was thinking maybe they're not flourishing because they're just living off of water and light. I'll get some pictures up later tonight, but maybe somebody has some insight.
Once you get the nutes I'd say give them the grow nutes at 1/2 strength once you get them in the mail. Then after 2 weeks I'd go to full strength. You'll see a difference once you start them on nutes.
That was my plan. Half strength for a bit until they got bigger. Is this the reason for why they're not looking so happy, though, no nutrients? Here are some pictures:
Agh! I woke up this morning and one of the scrappier ones is starting to keel over! I turned off the light directly above it, thinking maybe it's too much for her. I wish my nutrients and ph balancing stuff would come already!
i use only an sensi grow but through the time ive used it ive found that using the dosages on the bottle is way to much here is what i use for rule of thumb: 0-8 inches 700 ppm (once roots show in bottom of 1 inch rockwool cube till then distilled water) 8-13 inches 1000 ppm 13- and up 1200 ppm with this formula i change faithfully my nutes every week and top with water once sometimes twice through the week as mj plants at times through there growth cycle use loads of water.hope this helps!!!!
The roots are all the way out of the wool, through the cocoa pebbles, and about an inch past the net pots. That's only on the bigger ones, though.
