When to flip

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Pop pop, Apr 17, 2016.

  1. hi I have a question that has probably been asked by every new grower on more than one occasion. My question is I have 3 Purp Kush. 3 green crack indica. They have been in veg for 6 weeks. I have a 4x4 tent and I'm running out of room in. If I flip them now I think the tent would be full. Being my first grow I was wondering if I should flip them now or let them go a little longer. I might just have answered my own question. But too new to know. Any guidance I can get from someone experienced would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my question

  2. No matter when you flower you're going to stay crowded with 6 plants in a 4x4.

  3. Hello mook and thank you for answering. Yes my first grow also using 7 gallon buckets which take up a lot of room not to mention a little tall. But now I know better for the next grow. I will change a few things for the next grow. Nothing beats experience. Just wondering if I flip now will I get good bud or should I let it go a little longer. I think one might be showing some signs of flower. But they are not autos. Thanks

  4. Are they fem?
    What light schedule?
I would flip...maybe. More veg growth could be redundant at this point. My veg ranges from 6-8 weeks so you're in the zone, though to be sure you should throw up some pics. And everyone counts from a different point as to when they started.

  8. They are going to increase in size by 50% to 75% during bud so plan accordingly.
They look nice and healthy. Good job

  9. Thanks deman. 1 really took off. following week the other 2 GC took off. PK was slower I was hoping they would catch up a little be fore I switchmore

  10. Not sure if you can do this, but consider throwing some blocks under your straggler. An even canopy will keep shorty growing strong and prevent stretching.

  11. Thanks mook I have got a couple blocks in the garage that should do the trick

  12. Are there any specific steps you could recommend ( nutrient changes Ease into lighting When to go HPS ) Im using Humboldt Nutrients A and B and half a dose of Dynaguard. This is all very exciting to me. I can't believe I actually grew something from a seed. The experience is somewhat staggering to me since I never thought I could do it. Every morning when I go to check on them for the first time of the day Im amazed

  13. These plants will double and then some in size from the flip. My real advice would be to take two of these out of the tent and flip the rest now.

  14. You can throw them directly under HPS and go to 12/12. What size is your light?

  15. Another consideration is seeing the plants showing sex. I know they are fem seeds, but showing their sex means they are mature enough to flower. If you flower before they show they will have a higher chance of being hermie. At 6 weeks they should be showing, but only by a week or two so I would check it.

  16. I felt the same damn way. The dudes who taught me step down light times over a few days. Many here simply flip right away. Some start flower nutes right at switch. Some do one last veg nute as the plant adjusts. Can't tell you which is "right".

  18. 1K means you will need a little more vertical space from the light. The light even if cooled will be bright enough to cause light burn so maybe 20" of distance.

  19. I'm going to change my nutes tomorrow then switch to 12/12. My ballast will adjust from 500 to 1150. I have had it at 24 inches before and it was too close. Started to get light burn. Just scared to flip. I don't know what to expect. Would hate to have put so much time into them only to watch them die
