So I’m growing in a 2x4 tent and while my plants are only about 1’ tall, they are super bushy and I’m worried about space in the tent. I’ve heard people say they will literally double in size and that has me worried. I have an overhead pic but can provide more. Growing blueberry OG in 5 gal pots if that helps
In my experience with a 2'x4' tent, 2 plants in 5 gal pots, vegged for 4 weeks is all it will comfortably accomodate. Of course that depends on the strain, growing medium, etc... Your tent looks almost full now, I would flip if you haven't already and get ready to do some serious defoliation to make sure you've got room and adequate air circulation. The plants reaction to the 12/12 light switch (doubling in size) is a rule of thumb depending on the strain but yes they will streach. Looks like you've done a good job so far, good luck.
oh wow, I guess I’ll be top dressing some power bloom and castings this weekend and flip! thank you both, and appreciate saying the plants look good so far, because the first month of their life was a serious struggle aka me overwatering.
When you fill the tent, however long that may be. Next run just run 2 or smaller pots. Those aren't ready to flip but you've ran out of room.
Did I just top these plants too early and often for the space? I think I understand what you mean when you say they aren’t ready to flip, correct me if I’m wrong. All these tops haven’t had enough time to mature yet, and by the time they do my tent will be bursting with plant.
Nah it's just bigger the plant bigger the bud more yield. I like to veg longer 2 months sometimes 2 1/2. This current veg I'm running well be closer to 3 months. Not intentionally flower tent is taking a couple to few weeks longer than I anticipated. Those pics are 2 to 3 weeks old, just cropping and letting them veg.
Ok I gotcha. My reasoning for the 5 gal pots was I wanted 4 plants in there and I am trying to go 100% organic with top dressing, so I didn’t want them to get too big. But I think I’ll go for 2 plants in 10 gallon pots next time, or even considering a no till bed. I hope you have a good harvest! Cheers
I'd probably run two 3 gallons in there. You may want to think about getting a bigger tent. Maybe 2 autos in 5 gallons.
There may be a 4x4 in my future then lol maybe I should have mentioned these seeds aren’t fem, and only confirmed one lady 100%
Ahh I just saw those pics now for some reason. I get it now, those will be baseball bats, mine are going to be chicken nuggets lol
Last question for ya grobuddy haha I appreciate your input. If I get rid of my light green plant could I be ok vegging for another 2-3 weeks and potentially increase overall yield? The light green plant has always been a little slow to grow, but I kept her around cause she looks cool
I wouldn't get rid of it, just grow two next time. They'd probably need to veg another month and a half to make up for removing the one plant.
