So I've been watching my plant and picking up all sorts of info on harvesting but I'm not sure here. My bud has really been fattening up and pistils are changing leaves are dying left right and centre as to help bud growth and this one plant STINKS! (skunk strain).... I'm thinking give it another week and then start a two week flush.? Additional info: 170watt CFL grow (85watt blue,85red) Switched to 12/12 6weeks 2 days ago
I'd prob go even longer. U can get a 30x zoom scope 4 under 20 bucks at most grow store. But if u harvest early your budds won't b as dense and nothing against cfl but cfl budds are not as dense as hps budds. I use both a 600w HPS and 4, 300w CFL's Flowering can take 8-15+ weeks sativa usually taking longer than indicas. Early harvest is nothing u want unless u HAVE to. Your plants still really green and has a lot of white sex pistols. The more mature a Budd is the better the high will b and last longer.
Don't bother flushing, it's a myth. Proper growing and curing is where you will get flavor and smooth smoke from.
Yeah I have a 60-100x pocket microscope. so when is a good time to start a 2 week flush? How do you know.? I'd rather flush too maan, il be curing it for a month aswell

Two weeks of staving your plants at their peak grow time will do more harm than good. Bud that burns like shit was grown wrong or cured bad 100% of the time.
So at 50 50 you start a 2 week flush? won't they probably be a lot more amber by the end of the second week?

The 50/50 guide is more of a harvest guide. Two week is roughly a quarter of your entire flower time. When I thought flushing made a difference I would wait till about week 7 to flush then harvest some where between week 8 and 9 based on when I felt the plant was ready. I still strongly suggest doing a side by side of flushed and unflushed harvest though. Good luck.
Yeah that's exactly what I was going to do maan. Next week is week 7 then flush 2 weeks to week 9 then harvest..... So should that be my plan then.?
And if it isn't ready week 9 just water it normal till it is, give it a two day no water period then chop chop and start the drying and curing process
Good looking plant, if it was mine I would flush it of course, just not right now. The first thing I do with any plant is throw away the breeders timeline. Forget what they say and grow according to what the plant tells you. Your plant is telling it that it starting to get ripe but is not not ripe yet. Give at least another two weeks just like it is with the dame feeding program you have been doing, it's not broke don't go trying to fix it. If the hairs are 90 per cent red then look to see if they have receded, appear to to be thinner, or are laying down close to the calyx. Then get you amber to cloudy ration. At that point she is telling you she is in the last stage of ripening. Then it is time to flush if you are going to do that. You can flush for 3 or four days then harvest and every will be fine. Cut, dry and cure and you will be happy. Then it.
Well i think on Monday I'm going to start the flush. For some reason I've discoverd today that it's venting into a room downstairs and then the rest of the house.! I never knew one plant could stink so bad.! It's becoming a danger and needs to come down soon as. I don't mind a week or two early. my next strain will not be skunk. To anyone who reads this and is considering a skunk strain seriously take the smell into account even for just one plant.!! peace and thanks for all the responses guys
Smell is always a problem, you should look into a carbon filter, it's an absolute must for stealth. I always recommend an extra week on to what most people think is the correct harvest time. I think one of the biggest mistakes people make is harvesting to early. The extra time really seems to benefit smell and flavor IMO.
Ive flushed and not flushed and never could tell the difference. I got a freebie of Advanced Nutrients Final Phase..doubt it does a thing but going to try flushing with it on a plant and the other not flush it. See if theres a difference.
get a jewlers loop.. when you see 1 amber trich, start flush for 2 weeks.. 1 week molasses, 1 week water..
I like this method the mollasses really helps produce the stickyness we all like, and packs on weight in the final 2 weeks...
I can't find molasses. I've looked before. Il keep searching. How much do you mix in? Do you flush with it for a week or only water normally with molasses for a week?
