When growing indoors, does hydro have an edge over soil in terms of pests control?

  1. Are pests more likely to appear in soil grows vs hydro grows in similar environments/situations?

I would guess that soil might be more attractive to pests because certain kinds live in soil, but i'm not sure if hydroton or other grow mediums tend to be a good enough substitute for those pests...

  2. I guess it would help for soil born pests. But it won't do shit against spider mites. I prefer soil pver hydro. Less harsh smoke and better taste IMO
