When Does Weed Become a Problem in your Life?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by iPowers, Jan 6, 2019.

  1. Hey guys,

So I have a really random question and I have a feeling you guys may say, "There isn't a problem as long as it doesn't affect your badly", but I thought I'd wing it anyways. When is there a point where smoking weed can be a problem in your life rather than be a good thing?

See for me I only smoke once a day (occasionally more) and while I know there are plenty of people that do it more often, I have noticed that long useage makes my mind and body work a bit differently. Like for example, brain being foggy, more prone to being anxious, etc.; things that could be solved if I just stopped smoking. However, what's got me worried is everytime I try to quit, my body just has this huge urge to hit it again when I get home because my body is used to experiencing the high every night I got home from work and if I ignore it I just get super anxious.

So that being said, I was wondering when do you guys think that smoking can be a problem for you? I don't mean it in terms of how much (cause we all know there isn't a limit from that standpoint), but more of how it affects you in the long run and how it makes you feel when you aren't high.

After 42 years my advice to you is to control or even understand Tolerance

toking Mondays Wednesdays and 2x times in the weekends

gives my tolerance a chance to recover

the rest is compulsion even greed on your side

    good luck

ps use weed as a reward only, its one way to get things done, like for me I gotta move out that snow from my road ..ugh

  3. Weed isn't a problem in my life lol I use Marijuana daily for pain relief.. if I didn't wake & bake I'd be bed bound for the first hour of my day while I wait for my meds to work:confused_2:

  4. When you smoke your rent away. That's typically the biggest issue for most people with weed, but it goes for any drug really.

  5. I like this idea. I may give this a shot. Thank you. :)

If you don't mind me asking, what type of pain do you have that you need weed for and what types of meds do you take? Just asking out of curiosity. If it's personal I completely understand.

Yeah luckily I"m getting paid enough where that isn't happening and I buy occasionally in somewhat huge quantities and preserve over a while so I should be good on that, but regardless you make a very good point!

  6. If you aren't going to work or being productive then...it's a problem.

  7. First off your body doesn't crave it your mind does....it does effect everyone differently but it's not like "harder drugs" where your body actually needs it to actually do stuff. It's never been a "problem" in my life... responsibility come first always. But I do crave weed a bit too much I'd say.....would be better if I just controlled my usage moreless.. but really my issue is I don't have enough to do so I just smoke.....not good....but if I stay busy I really don't need cannabis at all. But that's just not the case at the moment.i have too much free time, but that's gonna change in a couple weeks. The only real issue it has on my life is that the first 2 weeks after I'm off it I get mean and anxious as fuck....after that usually I'm just anxious all the time and it's terrible plus I can't eat...haha so thats mainly why I smoke just because of those two issues.

  8. Do you find yourself being less anxious after you take a break from weed? Or do you not notice a difference with your anxiety?

  9. It becomes a problem only if I let it. I use to smoke all day everyday but I was running from something and numb bliss was where I thought comfortability was. Later found that it was just to drown out everything around me.

I picked up on it and quit smoking for several months and I’m just now getting back into as of recently. As far as anxiety goes, I don’t really have it when not smoking often but when I smoke to much it resurfaces at times.

I think the best thing to do is use it as a reward as others have stated. Don’t smoke all the time unless that’s just how you are wired. Some people can, some can’t. Also what helps for me to keep the balance is hard work and improvement(clean house, clean car, clothes washed, dishes done, etc) until later in the evening and using cannabis as a relaxation method after everything is finished.

I feel like we could talk all day about what works and what doesn’t but truthfully you’ll just have to find YOUR balance. What works for you.

It only becomes a problem when you are abusing for what ever reasons and begin to get stale and stagnant with your surroundings in life; in my opinion anyways.

I completely agree with your point about the mind craving cannabis whilst the body plays no role. It's absurd to me to see how many users post on here about these outlandish and more often than not, torturous experiences they've had with weed when they stopped toking. These people assert that they physically can't control themselves to have more of it..That's just bs to me honestly

I've been on a t-break from weed for more than 5 months. Before August, I made investments for my first growing run. I had zero experience whatsoever and had never dealt with plants before. I sit before you now with over a pound in yield that. My roommate and I have been smoking the .3-.4 of a lb extra we had. I've just been grinding then stuffing one after another. Raw paper stuff-able organic hemp cones. I bought a big bulk off of eBay for like 30 bucks prior because I knew how much I would get roundabout before I chopped.

Knowing myself, I'd be in my best interest to get this weight off of my hands. No one really needs that much bud. I've been smoking the trim from the first run and the bud, I still have so much more left. Doesn't help that my roommate is toking a good share of it lol, but yeah I'm enjoying this now until I run out. That'll be enough toking for me until the next run I plan to start in a few days is done.

Weed helps me make a profit if I don’t smoke I’m in so much pain I can only work for a few hrs I pull 8-10 hrs a day. I’d say most problems come with young or recreational users not with medical users.

  12. If you spend all your money on it and, isolate yourself from your loved ones in order to smoke it.

Its okay on your spare time or if you have a lotta spare time. For me its easy my family smokes too or uses edibles.

Unfortunately not everyone has a family like mine or a lotta people they know who partake. So my advice to you is make sure your other priorities are straight. :)

  13. I smoke all day everyday. 4-7 joints a day plus a 1/2 gram of RSO in the afternoon and evening. If I didn’t I would be crippled. It helps my appetite, pain relief, my mood, my focus, regulates my gut, and just brings me to homeostasis. I would have way more problems without it

  14. Yeah I do see a difference my anxiety gets worst, it just kinda comes in waves and really just stops me from eating good...I feel like I did something wrong and I'm about to get stabbed that's the feeling I get.....it's really terrible and sounds over the top but I couldn't be anymore serious about that it's almost like paranoia or something. It sucks. But like I said my day goes fine with very little anxiousness if I just stay busy and focused on something.....

  15. I use cannabis daily, I am a medical patient mainly for anxiety, but I also use it for sleep (fall asleep easy but wake up in the middle of the night with my mind racing, has happened since I was a teenager far before I started smoking) and to be honest to prevent myself from becoming an alcoholic, it runs in my family and I like drinking a little too much but with cannabis I usually only drink once a week or so

  16. As soon as you don't know when to stay sober. I spend most of my free time either high or soon to be but I do my fucking job first. Another indication is when it negatively impacts your life. What exactly that means I can't tell.
Bodily harm caused by weed should make you overthink your habits too.

Edit: have you ever tried using this swipe shit while holding a beer in one hand and a joint in the other? And typing with your ringfinger? Fucking difficult let me tell you

  17. I prob have a problem... but it's my problem.

  19. My whole entire life would be a problem without it. I use to treat my illness and I smoke 2 8ths a day pharmaceutical company's would make a killing off my arse for their poison their shite used to dumb me down to point of no social life and when I discovers cannabis my pain and spasms are greatly reduced I can socialise allot more comfortbly I can honestly tell you it saved my life anyone who suffers with chronic pain can tell you its no fun and it seems like the pain isn't worth it anymore.

  20. Ok. Ur body can need it. It’s not just ur mind. I don’t drink smoke cigs or do other drugs. Just smoke weed. While it being minor. Ur body does withdraw from weed. I smoke daily. 1/8 or more a day for years. I’ve stopped two times in my life for an extended period of time. Both times. Night sweats, shivers, anxiety, moody it was withdraw, while being super minor and lasting between a week or two b4 I was completely “over it” it was still my body craving and wanting marijuana
