The seed companies advertise a range of flowering time depending on the genetics. If they are saying it takes 8-9 weeks to flower are they saying that is 8-9 weeks from the start of the 12/12 cycle or is it 8-9 weeks from the time the plant will start to actually show flowers which could be 1-2 weeks after the change to 12/12? Thanks.
Personal preference i suppose, i know people that start at 12/12 and i know people that start when sex is shown.....In my opinion i would just go to radio shack and buy a pocket magnifying glass for 12 bucks and go by the trich's that'll take all the guesswork out.
Counting from when flowering begins is more likely to result in a flowering time closer to the breeders' estimates.
