  1. i have 15 little plants and i'm not to sure how much water i should use on each plant and how often to water them.they are 3 inches tall and 9 days old this is my first indoor grow and i need some good advice. there in 5 gallon buckets under a 1000w mh light how will i know if i'm putting to much or not enough water on them right now i'm guessing.is there signs i should look for to know i have fox farms nutes when can i start useing it and how often.

  2. I never messed with nutes. I'll leave that for another person to answer.

    For the water part... it envolves a very specific science of hollistics. I'll describe in steps for a better understanding.

    1-Pry the soil with the tip of your finger 'till 1" deep. Is it dry?
    NO = Do nothing.
    YES = Step 2.

    2-Start putting water distributing it evenly accros the soil surface. Watch for water running off the bottom of the vase. Is it running off?
    NO = Pour more water.
    YES = Stop pouring.

    3-Don't leave the water on the plates. Take them all off and ditch the water. Else, your roots might drown and die.

    :D

  3. Anyone on the lighting when to switch over?

  4. first of all i water when the pot gets light. i go by weight. how heavy is it when i fully water it compared to when it is dry. young plants do not need alot of water as they aren't taking it up as fast yet. very easy to over water younglings. as for the 1000mh, i would not start them under that. it might be too much for them in the beginning. try a cfl or t5 fluroescent until you get a few leaves going. say after a couple weeks maybe, depending on how fast it grows. if the plants aren't showing any issues under the 1000w then go for it. but it's usually too much for them when young. as far as switching the light to 12/12, that is up to you. i would at least wait til its at least a foot tall but i don't know the size of your grow area. they will most certainly stretch when you flip the light over. mine did uncontrollably and i'm in a very small space, lol.

  5. my question is this I'm not sure if it was read correctly.

    I am right now running my seedling under a 65 watt CFL white light.

    I am wondering as to when to switch it over to a 600 watt HPS orange light.
    I am between 2 to 3 week until I see the first or second set of true leaves and then keep the 600 watt HPS light 1 meter away from soil level

  6. sorry about that, lol. keep them under the cfl for now. they may stretch up to 2 feet when u flip the light. i usually do it when they are about a foot tall but like i said, i have a 15" x 17" x 6ft grow space. if you have a taller ceiling then you can veg it for longer. keeping the 600 a meter above should also work unless there's just too much heat but it would be far enough away.

  7. Hahaha no worries.

    I have a 2 meter tall tent and 1 by 1 squared floor space. I was going to run the seedlings on a CFL for 2 weeks and then flip straight over into the 600 watt. I am currently moving the light closer to the plant by 5cm every 3 days to reduce stretching. It's currently standing at 30cm away from the soil level of the plant pot. I will stop when it reaches 15 to 20cmm as its only a little 65 watt light and then I will start the 600 watt at 1 meter away in 12 days time.
