(with deep fried tortillas.. and lotsa cheddar) all sorts of chips, and whatnot Smoked BBQ Briskets.. been in for 2 hours already.. all sorts of side dishes etc.. lotsa wine, beer and booze dessert: just weed and coffee.. and shots of cafe' patron and whatever anyone else shows up with..
Very nice oldskool but you'd have to roll me home after that. You're not going to have one of those guys at your party are you? You know, the one who does a John Madden style analysis of every single play? *shudders* We're doing about the same thing as you Benderbob but we're having a few more people over. I usually prefer wings uncoated but I have a really good recipe for battered deep fried wings so we're making those, half with buffalo sauce and half with honey barbeque sauce. I was at a couple of grocery stores yesterday and it's pretty funny how the Super Bowl has almost turned into a national holiday. I saw two old ladies (and I mean old) at Publix all decked out in Packers gear, with Packers pennants tied to their carts, just hootin' and hollerin' and raising hell. The whole store was cracking up . Those old broads were having the best damn time. I can only imagine what they're going to be like today . EDIT - That sounds good too August. Looks like GC eats, drinks, and tokes well today.
Not sure about all the apps and sides, but I know we're having a smoked brisket ( been in since like 6 am) and a whole smoked turkey. Yummmmm
Brisket is a nice nod to Texas where the game is hosted. I was thinking about throwing one in the smoker with the ribs but we have so much food going on already and only about 8 people to feed so I passed. I'm sure yours will be delicious
That sounds really good OSG. So does AW's... edit: and Zoranj's ... Mmm smoked turkey! I'll probably have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich myself.
We're going to a friend's house so I only have to make one dish. I'm making sort of an appetizer version of Bahn Mi sandwiches... Pulled pork with asian flavors (soy, ginger, honey, garlic, chili, etc), cucumber and mango relish, green onions, cilantro, radishes, and spicy chili mayonnaise all on little crusty hamburger buns.
OSG, the ONE and ONLY food I'm POSITIVE I can out-do you with, is my brisket. You probably don't believe me... but us Texans KNOW how to bbq.
The main thing I'm looking forward to tonight is my 'super bowl' for the super bowl. That, and some grey goose and cola with my BBQ. Bowls of bud + drinks + true Texan BBQ* = ultimate win. * Slow smoked brisket, including 'lean' 'extra lean' and 'moist' cooked. Smoked chopped beef, jalapeño sausage, stuffed bell peppers, homemade BBQ sauce (for any of these items... NOT that the brisket or chopped beef needs it,) sweet potatoes, steamed vegetables, home style biscuits, homemade gravy, and plain white bread. Desert will be apple pie with Mexican vanilla ice cream. Oh, and it goes without saying that it will be beer of all kinds galore. Good to see another microbrewery fan!
Goin to my boys house. He makin the wings and buffalo chicken dip. I went to the butcher, picked out my chicken, waited for em to kill and pluck it, got it while it was still warm, came home and turnin that bitch into chicken soup.
Its a potluck, so I have no idea, but I'm bringing: Stella Artois beer and nachos with all the fixins.
didnt really plan ahead im going to just order some food and get hamemred with a handful of people if the pats were in it different story headstrong of you to think you have this game in the bag this is far from a certainty
Well osg i cannot come watch the superbowl with a bunch of steeler fans so i won't be attending your party. (I might sneak in later for some food though...)
1 big ass bag of doritos 10 pounds of wings 1 4 pack of oranges and cream stewarts cheese and veggie tray and assorted fresh fruits.
No offense but see what happens when you get overconfident Packers shat on the steelers without Woodson my SB menu worked out I am hammered stuffed and stoned
props and everything for havin a good time [ maybe ur from pittsburgh?], but damn, i dont understand why people go balls to the wall for a football game. OP made his night sound like my christmas! 'dinner before kickoff', jesus, im jealous!
It's a shame that all of this food was enjoyed by fans of the losers. Not quite the 'desert' you were hoping for... I still wish I could have came. Great food, and plenty of trash-talking to go around!
