Throwing around the term 'sheeple' at those who question their beliefs. These 'enlightened' also tend to look down on those who dont see things the same way they do, usually throwing around a variety of insults starting with sheep. And acting in an all around ass hole way. They clearly have very large ego's for being 'enlightened' and a generally apathetic view of their fellow human beings on this site, unless they agree with them. And here I thought enlightenment entailed ego death, who woulda known
The politics forum is infested with spoiled brats that were given everyting, who think that they are they are proud individualists, and really believe they know everything - neither of which are even remotely close to reality. If these deluded, ignorant, inexperienced online loudmouths ever actually faced some of those whom they insult from behind a computer screen, they'd run home crying to their mothers' apron strings.
I can't take anyone seriously who thinks the following are good etc war on drugs gun control the war on terror the two party system DUI Checkpoints Drones Government power over states The fed (reserve and agencies) Romney Obama That is off the top of my head.
Anyone who claims to be awakened/enlightened online simply because they believe in things out of the norm are faaar from being either.
I can't take anyone seriously who thinks the following are good etc war on drugs gun control the war on terror the two party system DUI Checkpoints Drones Government power over states The fed (reserve and agencies) Romney Obama That is off the top of my head.
Why so narrow minded? A lot of those things have pros and cons. Some people think the pros outweigh the cons and that its not all that bad. Why couldn't you take an opinion differently than yours seriously? Let me guess... because they don't really know how said things work and only believe what big media tells them. They couldn't actually reach that conclusion on their own. Sound right. I'm not saying YOU think that, but that's how a lot of people see it. Which is ignorant.
this is funny.. http://forum.grasscity.com/politics/1097298-who-will-you-vote-nov-3.html check out page 3
Everything has a pro and a con. If the pros outweigh the cons, then it is good. Cigs = That nice feeling vs Cancer bad lungs smokers cough smell
There is only one truth about any single thing. There are many perspectives but one truth only. We are living in the information age. You have all the information you need to know. Almost anything humanity has found, officially and non-officially, almost all secrets - there are books, leaks, videos, pictures - all kinds of information. So to be enlightened about any topic is easy. But what is the situation we see in reality: Almost everyone living today does not give a damn fuck about anything except for - watching TV, favourite TV shows, Xbox, PS3, partying, going to "school", studying tonnes of useless crap to pass exams, work. People have their noses touching the global picture and they can't see anything from there. They are too zoomed-in, too preoccupied with unimportant stuff that seem very important to them. Have you been to an illusionist show? How does he pull off all those tricks? The trick is to make the audience pay attention to one of his hands while the other is doing the trick. This is exactly what is happening today. We have almost every single person paying attention to the wrong hand while the Illusionists are doing their tricks with the other hand. The system is there simply to entertain you, to confuse you, to make you uninterested in what is happening around the world, to narrow your worldview as to the possibilities of what is true and what is false. You have numerous shows debunking everything. It's not that everything is true but a big part of what they are debunking is in some form a reality. So the result is - almost everyone is paying attention to the wrong hand of the illusionist and they are little by little narrowing their worldviews by believing all the disinformation on mainstream media. That is the situation in the world right now. However, more and more people are waking up from the illusion. There is valuable information everywhere and people are several clicks away from it thanks to the internet. If one person knows the truth and wants to share it - there are plenty of ways to do it and that's happening on a mass basis. That is the reason that people who are waking up to the true reality of the world are so anxious to tell others and when the others are insulting them and trolling them and being incredibly ignorant - the 'enlightened' people are getting angry at them because it really isn't very difficult to see the truth. It is in plain sight. What's stopping people from seeing it is mainly their egos. People don't want to change their worldview, they don't want to admit to themselves that they were being lied to all their lives, they don't want to admit that they were wrong and now they see the truth. Their egos have been inflated by the system so that it works against them now. That's the whole game the illusionists are playing. Does it make sense?
No American will be truly awake until an uprising occurs. Otherwise you're stuck still playing into the flawed system and are a part of its perpetuation, which isn't being awake at all. You may be enlightened to the flaws, but you're not awake until you break free.
There is only one truth about any single thing. There are many perspectives but one truth only.
See this bit made me not bother reading your post because it's just no true. In many cases "truth" is highly subjective. There can be multiple truths for certain things, and it's just as easy to argue there are no truths for said things. Sometimes the truth isn't definite, so what's true or not basically is perspective. It's like a food. I know this is a shitty example but I've been up for over 24 hours and don't care enough to think of a better/more relevant one. I could say strawberries are good tasting, or I could say they are bad. Now what's the definitive truth in this situation? There obviously isn't one and it's all reliant on personal perception of what qualities taste good and which taste bad. Now why can things that affect mass amounts of society be similar? The world really isn't so black and white. But it's when you start thinking it is when you start developing the "I'm right, I'm awake. Everyone who disagrees isn't smart enough to see what I see" ego.
Okay, give me an example of something that has happened in the past or exists today that is two different things at the same time. A stone in the garden is a stone in the garden. This is the truth about it. Of course there are many details and features but you can't say "oh it's a stone but it's also a rabbit if you look it from a different angle". It's a stone and that's it. One truth only. Things that have happened don't change when you look at them. You have big Easter Island head statues. They are statues. You can't say "they are statues but they are also elephants, you just have to look at it from my perspective." You see what I mean? There is only one truth. There are many feature and aspects to it. The truth can be analysed from many perspectives but it is what it is. There is only one truth to what happened on 9/11, there is only truth on who rules the world, there is only one truth on how many feet a duck has, there is only truth to how many times you shat today. With what exactly do you not agree?
I was just thinking about this to myself. But in a completely different definition of 'enlightened'. The people you describe sound like what some would call conspiracy theorists. I assume they call themselves enlightened because they know the stuff that most marijuana users know. I know it as well, but I don't consider myself enlightened for it. The reason I consider myself to be enlightened or at the very least on the verge of breaking through on a spiritual level is simply because I don't care. Once I understood yin-yang and the everlasting balance of the Universe it really makes it easy to not care about stuff. Once you're there you realise almost constantly that you're just inside of a game that everyone else is taking far too seriously. That's really the only reason I host an opinion about anything at all. I refrain completely from religious discussions. Philosophy, great, but if anyone asks me my religion I tell them I'm 'disinterested' as my category. To call yourself enlightened is pretty foolhardy and from people who suggest they know a lot about information, creating a false definition and calling people sheep for not buying your argument when you can't form one seems a bit silly to me.
I think those whom say they are enlightenend have no idea what it really means.. They just finially realized they have a brain and can have thier own thoughts, so now...they are enlightened..lmao
I think true enlightenment is the realization that "enlightenment" means something different to everyone. Every ego is different, thus every untying-of-the-ego is different. This is not a bad thing. The ego is a place of isolation, but complete individuality. I don't think that it is necessarily the best strategy to conceptualize it as something that must be "obliterated" - I see it as something to be balanced out. It is important to be individual while you can, but it is also important to see the bigger picture and understand that ultimately this is illusory and fleeting. But, of course....maybe this is something that only holds true in my process of "enlightenment."
There is also another aspect of being enlightened. If you are truly enlightened - you know that you are enlightened and so you can say you are enlightened and be correct. So all truly enlightened people know they are enlightened. However, many who are not enlightened also claim to be enlightened. In conclusion, not everyone who says he is enlightened is enlightened but everyone who is enlightened and honest about it would say he is enlightened. Fuck, I have never said 'enlightened' more times in a single post. Gotta go light one and become enlightened.
I'm conscious. I don't like anyone who's not. Their ignorant blind and try to play me for me for weak. They must be deleted.
Any generalization needs to be further qualified before it can be held as truth. "Good" and "bad" are somewhere near the top of the generalization ladder. You need to further explain why these things are good or bad, including the desired outcome and all the further reactions that will lead to this outcome. Then it can be considered a "truth". While "bad" for the same object might also be a truth, when it is further qualified it becomes a separate object. If you don't get hung up on semantics and generalizations, then yes, there is only one truth to everything. Though I'm not saying that this truth is always easy to find. Some generalizations have to be qualified to innumerable quantities. Anyway, I don't think I've seen the same people that call others sheep say they are enlightened. Perhaps I just never bothered to connect the two, but I also don't hang out in the General section often. I don't really understand the definition of "sheep" as a bad term, because technically we are all sheep and shepherds. What I mean is people will listen to whoever is supplying the most logical information to them. So there are many shepherds, including the "sheep" at times. We are all human; so we all rationalize, and we all work together. Some people have a harder time discerning the truth than others, but nobody would know anywhere near as much as they do if there weren't other people supplying information that they followed to some degree.
I've said I was enlightened once. I think once your truly enlightened theres no need for it to be declared though
I'm more of blade of grass than a sheep or a shepherd. I do more observation than I do following or leading. It's not about the information people supply me, it's about the information I discover myself. Supplied information, unless objective in nature, such as information derived from the scientific method, is unreliable. Good rhetoricians can put a convincing spin behind any piece of information regardless of how accurate or right it is, so I don't rely on the information people try to hand me. I don't consider myself enlightened, though. I'm too young and inexperienced to be enlightened. lol
