whats up with information on the collider

  1. i am wondering why the history channel hasint had any good shows about topics that relate to the collider. I HAVE NOT HEARD INFO on it since a long time, but i cant wait i hope its interesting

    Yup, it's broken right now. When you have a device that is designed to have eeeeeeeensy weeeensey particles smash together at a high rate of velocity, there's gonna be some issues to get it working right.

    Yes, according to CERN themselves they recently replaced 50+ magnets in the collider, and it should be up and running again in September 2009.

    TV probably isn't the best way to follow the LHC, CERN themselves is the best source of info. They have an incredible open-access policy at CERN, if you wanted to you could even go there and have a look at the thing.
