Whats this clear thing on the side of DWC buckets?

    On some people DWC buckets they have a clear tube thing that looks like a handle on the side.. whats this for and is it absolutely needed?

    This is so you can tell your water level without removing the lid.

    and no its not absolutely needed... its to make life easier..and its a life saver if your gonna be running multiple buckets... i would preffer you use it
