What's the shelf life for bud

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by spindr27, Feb 22, 2012.

  1. If cured buds are properly stored in mason jars, how long do they hold their potency? Also, is it better to leave them as buds, or is it okay to grind them up and seal them tight in jars?

    Many thanks,

  2. I can't say much about shelf life for fresh bud, but i do know keeping buds un-ground is much better than grinding them up and storing them.

  3. Not sure about the max you could have it in for. But id say they should be good for at least a year. As for the buds themselves, id just leave them as whole buds until you are ready to smoke it, then grind it up. Idk if its true or not but it just seems like it would lose dankness if you ground it up, then let it sit

  4. If stored in glass jars, and the place is dark and reasonably cool, two years minimum! :D

Delhi, India is not known for its mild weather. Yet their cannabis lost virtually no potency over two years! :smoke: (And they MEASURED the THC, they didn't just light it up to see if they still got high!)

And for really long term storage...
