come share statistics! lol. what fun! for every 1 calorie of food the average american eats, there's 10 calories of hydrocarbons! ie, American's live off Oil!!!! lol, it explains alot doesnt it. i wish i knew that statistic for every nation.
I liked the average IQ for each state that voted for Bush and Kerry. The highest average IQ for a state that voted for bush was 100, the lowest for Kerry was 99. I thought it was interesting to look at.
^ that is very interesting indeed! not really a big suprise though just today some anti-smoking group came to visit our school (I have no idea why they don't go to the younger ages, where a lot of kids start smoking) and told us that 50,000,000 people in the United States die each year from smoking cigs.... Thats like one in every five americans!!! lol such bullshit hmm, well I guess that isn't as much intresting as it is just plain un-true
"Cannabis contains a chemical that can protect cells by acting as an antioxidant. More effective than vitamins C or E, it offers an appealing option for the treatment and perhaps prevention of stroke, neurodegenerative disease, and heart attacks. (Science News, July 11, 1998, p.20)"
That is the most interesting stat ive heard in a while myself. I hate when they spread lies like that. I guess some of might now make it to next year lol. This is my interesting stat: 543 people were hospitalized in the last two years after openning bottles of beer with their teeth.
^lol...must be a bit embarrassing for'em Most interesting one I've read is that in Germany, by stats, bowling is the most dangerous sport...due to the high number of deaths in bowling halls lmao No wonder, actually...the only people that bowl in Germany are 60+...imagine them hitting a strike...they get a heart attack
i would have thought it would have been rugby or some thing. do germans have rugby. if not they should hell of a sport is what i always say jolly good old chap.
There sure are some rugby teams in Germany...but not as much as in the UK/former commonwealth... Anyways...we're talking stats...and they're usually bs...depends on how you angle your stats, you can prove or disprove anything... We got a shitload of car racing, football, etc, but most deaths occur in the bowling alley, due to the players' high age...
wow, thats crazy! Most of the swing states are near the middle even! haha, i remeber some stats our marketing teacher was telling us... stupid stuff like most people that start their own business have 3 or more kids, or how more buisness are started in big cities then small towns.... well duh! there bigger, theres more people
i believe the bowling fatality "stat". I worked at a bowling alley for a while as a mechanic. those machines back there are pretty viscious and crawling around in running belts, sweeps, and gears is definately not safe. there were a few occasions where i nearly had to go to the hospital for cutting/pinching fingers. i was told of a few deaths too by a falling pin deck that mechanics would be under while fixing a machine. so i believe that bowling is unsafe for the people who worked in an alley but just fine for the people playing it.
heres one i found interesting. George W. Bush is the first president in 16 years, since his father did it in 1988, to win the popular vote and the electorial college vote.
Funny I saw this thread. We have several bulletin boards on our floor in the dorms I live in. One has a bunch of weird stats/facts. I picked out my 6 favorites: -The Average American spends 6 years in the bathroom and 6 months at a stoplight -The average person laughs 13 times a day -There are more chickens in the world than people -40,000 Americans are injured by toilets each year -A pig can run a mile in 7 and a half minutes -When you see a statue of a person on a horse: if the horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle. If it has one front leg in the air, he/she died from wounds from battle. If all the legs are on the ground, the person died of natural causes.
