Whats the deal with hamsters, gerbils, and rats?

  1. I hope I'm not already losing my mind, but I read here, or somewhere on the net, that keeping some critters in your room was a viable CO2 option.

The little guys gets tons of O2 from the plants and respire CO2 for the plants.

    Anyone read/hear of this ?

    Thanks, OGH

  2. I seriously doubt even 10 little animals like that could produce a significant amount of CO2. Not with the sort of ventilation us indoor growers use.

  3. Well, probably not ever feasible for larger grows, but for smaller ops...

Would be trippy to have some enormous Habitrail looping all around the grow.

  4. Wow, interesting theory. I have never heard that one before. Could work I suppose, but probably not necessary. Plants do just fine without the constant breath of animals in the wild, I am sure with good ventilation (in and out) your plants don't need any extra CO2.

The inventiveness of growers never ceases to amaze me. But, let's not forget people this is a very hardy plant. I think people get way to caried away with trying to make the environment ideal instead of just letting the plants adapt to the environment.
