Depends on what you consider the best. Remember, a person who is happy in what they are doing isn’t necessarily doing work, or a job. With that said I work in film and tv
I'd have to say what I'm doing now. If I didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't be doing it. I'm a landscaper, largely dabbling in hardscape and other installations - fountains, decks, Bali huts. I've been doing this for about a decade. I get to work outside with my hands all day, right up my alley. I spent a number of years bartending in different places. Always a fun gig, but the hours are quite shit. It blows missing every event because you don't get off until 2 AM. I worked in some cool bars though - backpacker party bar in northern Australia, cozy Scottish pub in Edinburgh, live music venue in London. I was a firefighter too. Brilliant and rewarding experience, but I hated the management. And the fucking union. I was no saint at the time either. I really wish I could look back on it more fondly.
Best job I've had was working night shift at a warehouse... It sounds boring as fuck but the managers let you smoke weed & everyone was pretty laid back + the pay was good
For me...my current job. Working in the cannabis and hemp industry as a Grower. I get to work with plants that I love. I get to work with my hands. I'm almost always high. The pay is adequate. The benefits are amazing ( paid medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401K fully vested, monthly stipend in to a fitness account). Awesome employee samples once a month. PTO that accrues faster than I can use it. Yeah, this job has been good to me. Today's Forcast... Partly Cloudy With A Chance Of Amber.
Best pay i ever got was literally shovelling shit. Bird shit removal. Fuckin terrifying amounts of money to be made doing that. Few hundred quid a shift for the labourers. Make a fuck ton doing bird proofing aswell. Fitting nets n spike strips stuff like that. Get an easy 2k a week doing that when the goings good. Hard to get into though, especially if you fucked off the first time lol.
Copywriter. It was my first proper job when I graduated. And best boss ever. Our biggest client once said: "Why don't you as one of your girls bla bla ....". My boss replied: "I don't know what girls you have working for you, but I only have grown women working for me."
I was a subcontractor for many yrs, siding and roofing. While yes it was the most physically demanding job it was also the best one I've had. My saying was its not a good day if you're not dirty, sweaty, or bloody. Well most days were all 3. Now I just sit around watching machines run and I've been losing my damn mind! Sent from the future
My mate was an escort for a while. Mostly takin high class women to business functions n shit like that. Made a fuckin fortune like. He fucked a few of them for cash too.
Haha im the same now mate. Been in demolition the last while. Loved the grunt but just sit on my ass operating machines now while the rest of them sweat it out. Boring but satisfying lol.
Music yes. Couldnt smoke at work though id end up killin someone. Too many guys get hurt sober for that carry on lol.
Divemaster in the Caribbean. Great pay, long hours, tons of interesting people, two months off for hurricane season. Got burned out after nine years though.
Union ironworker , current . After 26 years of being a structural / reinforcing ironworker , the job I love has beaten me up pretty good. Everything from bone spurs and feet issues to major knee and shoulder surgeries . I still love what I do but am getting ready to hand over the reins to the next generation of ironworker and looking to do something a little less taxing on my bod. 9-11 first responder. Bucket brigade... Indescribable. Also erected the new Freedom towers just to name a couple of projects . Made a great living and outstanding bennies . I love what I do but every day definitely feels like work lol ~ vape Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
