What's next in vaporizer technology?

  1. Just curious as to what people think is the next progression in vapes. Obviously, this past summer with the release of the vape the portability game is really taking off, but what about overall?

    Huh...?

But regarding the progression of vapes, I think the two that stand out as far as pushing the envelope is the Cloud and the Cera, neither of which I have or could afford.

  3. I was talking in terms of portability, you can't get any better than the PAX. I've tried the Solo, Iolite(not the WISPR) and the MFLB. None of them came remotely close to PAX. That in short, where I was going with that one haha.

You're when you say The Cloud is the next step. I think possibly companies will take this vaping with glass to a different level, and possibly build on what the Cloud has already started.

  4. i think at this point it's just about improving existing designs. better heat chambers. better batteries, more stealthy, more sleek, more economical.

  5. ... and in terms of portability you can't beat hash oil pen vapes.

  6. I think the main step we're going to see, is towards higher end, portable vapes. As battery tech improves, so does the potential for cool new models.

  7. I think for the immediate future, we are going to see vapes with smaller, more efficient heating mechanisms. All glass or ceramic vapor paths are becoming normal. Use of medical grade and/or luxury components. More precise temperature control. New designs that conceal the purpose of the device.

Further down the road, more integration with computers. Maybe a new heating method that is unknown at this time? It'd be cool to have a vapor quality monitor type of thing that told you THC% or other useful information.

  8. I just found them to be unreliable, great concept though. Obviously, they've made huge strides in that dept. and I'm stoked to see what comes next.

  9. Here we go again. First the 'Cano and now the Pax.

When you say that "you can't get any better than the PAX", THAT is a false statement for there are many who have had the PAX and the Solo and like the Solo a whole bunch better. YOU may like the Pax better than other portables, but that's a far cry from it being the best in the market for everyone.

The Pax has one very negative thing going for it and that is it works on conduction and that means, it is constantly vaping your bud even when you're not hitting it. THAT is a major downside for some................not for everyone though.

The future of portables though looks like the new Cera from Thermovape. It works on convection, not conduction. Check it out in these two links:

  10. Number one I never said the PAX or the Volcano was the end all be all in terms of vapes. I own an Arizer Extreme Q and love it. In the OP I meant to say that the PAX was the best for me after what I have tried, sorry for the confusion. I'm not trying to argue with you because I think you have very well informed opinions.

  11. Understood. Saying that the Pax is best for YOU is totally valid.

Saying that "you can't get any better than the PAX." implying that no one can get a better portable than the PAX is not valid.

The only reason I bring this stuff up is that there are a lot of people that come into these forums that just lurk and they are looking for advice on a vaporizer purchase, and when they come across statements that say that a particular vape is the best on the market, they may make a decision based on that, especially when a few people say the same thing, when in fact, that particular vape may NOT be the best on the market.......for them.

Oh I know, and I appreciate you saying that as usually I am very wary of my typing and saying that one is better than another. Never meant to come out that way bud. As an experienced vaporholic I should know better :p .

  13. Very interesting point you brought up about the PAX though in regards to conduction and convection.

  14. Ya know, it's interesting. When the people over at Magic Flight were working on the prototype of the MFLB (before it ever came to market), me and a few others over at the FC site were throwing ideas back and forth with MF regarding the design, both pros and cons. When they finally progressed past the prototype stage, I introduced the MFLB here at GrassCity many moons ago and since then, in spite of some of its shortcomings, has been elevated to cult status. While I didn't intro the Pax here, this vape is going in the same direction. And the Volcano has been going in this direction for almost a decade.

With any vape, including those mentioned above, they all have their shortcomings and there are other vapes on the market that do certain things better than they do.

I guess it's one of the reasons why I'm on this crusade that says that there is NO one best vape for everyone. There are, however, certain vaporizers that are best for some people, and other vapes for other people.

We all have our favorites, but I think it really does a disservice to others by stating that just because it is the best for you automatically means that it's the best for everyone.

    Ok............off my soapbox.

  15. Yeah, it's definitely something to consider when purchasing a vape. All vapes work on either conduction or convection with many being a hybrid of both, to one extent or the other. The Pax leans very heavily into the conduction camp and is one of the main things that I don't like about that vape, but for many, they could care less, and that's cool. If it does what you want it to do in a way that you want it to do it, who the fuck cares, eh? ;)

  16. BTW, for those that are interested, this was Magic Flights first product......the Launch Tube:

  17. Well I'm more interested along with getting fried, the actual science and mechanism behind what I'm smoking. Similar to why I grow haha. I love the science and learning everything that goes into it.

  18. Haha that product I did know about. Great pics!

  19. Yeah, they put the tube away when the box took off.

  20. Gotta love how it's getting power from the batteries using those antiquated prongs haha. SOOO that's the future of vaping Iwien haha!
