whats up guys. im not quite sure whats eating my leaves. some of the leaves have little patches of silver and then it just turns into holes after a couple days like something is eating it. sorry if the pictures arent too good quality. i think its thrips but im not sure. i cant find any bugs anywhere! are thrips that small???? please help
Looks like spider mites to me, but then again i could be wrong. I'd get some neem oil just incase, it can't hurt.
U must identify the culprit first. Then a gameplan can be formulated. Every grower should have a magnifying aid. Freak
my ph is in between 6.0 and 6.5 nothing lower nothing higher. i just started today giving my plants nutrients and i use fox farm soil which comes with nutes in it so you dont have to for a couple weeks. if i use a magnify glass will i be able to see the thrips on my plants?
I dont think u have thrips but yes, u'll be able to see great details of your plant. Its one of a growers main tools. Try for a 20 - 30 x. Its a good investment. Can u clarify the nute thing ??? Are they in FF timed-release soil AND ur feeding nutes??? or Are they in FF timed-release soil and NO nutes ??? I hope its the latter. Freak
fox farm doesn't have time release nutrients, all the nutrients in it are organic (kelp seaweed, bat guano, worm castings.)
Whoops...my bad. I didnt read properly. In that case, it should be all good and pretty straight forward. Freak
well i freaked out and bought a thousand lady bugs. i put them in there tonight and they are all just chillin on my plants they cant do damage right?
A thousand? How much did that cost? I would've just bought some Neem Oil or some DE. And no, lady bugs will help you. Spider mites are their favorite meal.
lol. No, they wont do any damage at all. They will clean up your plants just like a hygienist cleans ur teeth bro. Just dont be alarmed during light times. Since they are an insect, they are naturally attracted to light. There will be lots a kamikaze ladybugs diving at the light. If its cfl, theyre ok, but anything else ie hps - lotsa popping goin on. Dont worry about it. Your numbers will diminish over time, but u got alot to start with. Freak
you know i think i have the same problem.. i zoomed in on them and they are small..semi black/green..not spidermites! what can they be
damn well what zoomage did you use? i have a 30x and i couldnt see anything on the leaves so either the ladybugs did their job or my magnifyer is not strong enough. my plants seem to be doing well now. the ladybugs are still chillin about 100 or so left.
