What would you do?

  1. Right now i have 3 bag seed seedlinngs 10 days old under a 4foot four bulb t5 light in my 2'7x4'11x6'7 grow tent, 1 isnt doing as good as the others but still ok. I have a 600 watt hps for later but im worried im going to get males so il might only have 1 or 2 females if any at all. Do you think i can end up happy with this grow or it'll go bad?

  2. I would grow auto flowering feminized seeds, not bagseed.

  3. Fuck autos. Flower them and see what you get. Why waste money for what could be a failed first grow? Do everything as cheap and simple as you can until you get it figured out.

  4. From the dankest dank to the brownest schwagg all mj plants have varying genetics. Grow what you have, practice with nutes(you will fuck this up at some point just accept it and learn to get past it) And with good care you could have some Fire. You never know till you get it cured and lit!!

  5. You will still have nutrients for your plant, however with organic you do not add chemicals to your plant. The soil has most of all the nutes you need aside from some teas and a few top dressings. hah Follow Jerry's link!

To answer your question. You have to send your prayers to the 'Almighty Gods' of female plants ! In 14 days after you switch your lights to 12/12 light cycle you will really know if you have females, males or hermies.

Just know is the luck of the draw with 3 seeds. If by any chance you have more bagseeds, sprout a few mores just to play safe.

  7. While I think, for the price they charge for it, that Roots soil is highly overpriced and under amended, I do think that you could fix this and do very well by simply adding a few items to it, and, as Hellroti said, water with some homemade teas.

I would add another 10%-15% worm castings to the soil mix, and once your plants are just established, top dress with an inch as well. It's also very easy to make and water with a castings slurry. Take several cups of castings and add just enough water to cover them. Shake vigorously to really busy up the castings and apply this way as a top dressing.

You see, organic soil gardening is not as much about adding nutrients as it is about utilizing soil life - ie: microbes and fungus. The bacteria is necessary to break down the organic matter in your soil to its base elemental form so that it can be used as plant food. This is called Nutrient Cycling. By adding castings to your soil mix and top dressing with them you will be assured that this will happen properly.

Roots Organics is a commercial soil company - they're out to make money. While they do state that they add this and that to the soil, we really have no idea of the quality and quantity of the amendments added.

Add a cup of Kelp Meal to each cubic foot (7.5 gallons) of Roots soil. Kelp meal is a fantastic organic nutritional amendment and will help you out throughout the grow as it breaks down. There are a few companies out there that sell this in small 5 pound bags - Epsoma, Dr. Earth and Down to Earth are a few. Either way, get the kelp meal and add it. I would also take a small handful (eighth to quarter of a cup, depending on pot size) and top dress with it, working it into the top inch or two of soil with your fingers.

At several times during the grow, also take an eighth of a cup of kelp meal per gallon of water, and soak it for a week, and then water with it straight up.

If this type of gardening interests you, and you're not interested in spending your paycheck at the Hydro Store, head over to the Organics forum to do some reading and ask some questions. There's a good group over there ready to help.

You won't have to worry about pH, PPM or deficiencies.

Good luck. Let me know if you need any additional help.

  8. Jerry is spot on 100% right. A good organic grow can rival the biggest best hydro system and the most expensive bottled nutes.

And as stated earlier, until you smoke some home grown, save your money for lights and stuff later.

  9. Is the OP asking about organics or getting females among his seeds ? I'm confused ?
