I wanted to be an astronomer or planetologist when I was a kid. I love space and the planets. I also thought being a photographer would be fun because I would take pictures with my shitty little Kodak camera all the time. I would have really liked being a nurse. I went to college to get on the path but I dropped out. I don't think I could have handled it emotionally. But if I had the personality, I'd definitely be a nurse. My life didn't go exactly the way I thought it would. I saw myself out of my mother's house by now and married with a great career. But things happen for a reason.
I'd like to be in a machine shop building custom one off shit. Like car frames, suspension/ mods , radio control parts and other awesome stuff. But that shit is dead and all that is around is factory job where your making 1 part for a life time. In high school I took 3 machining classes and got awards for highest mark for 2 of them. By helping my class mates out and making two dug out chassis out of 1/2" aluminum. So i could convert my 2wd 1/10 monster truck into a 1/8 truck. I got the chassis to the point of being operational and set it up.... with the weight of the chassis the truck looked like a floating boat. Its been years since ive last touched them an all i have left to do to finish them off is sand the dye off the chassis, drill the battery stop holes, and tap the battery stop plates.
I know it's romantized to hell, but traveling in a van with the destination being your heart's desire was always something I leaned towards. My dad did it and I guess I inherited his spirit. If I could drop everything, i would in a heartbeat, but that's not reality.
