The hurricane is an exhaust fan the other is a booster, even with a higher cfm the vantech booster won't move as much air as the hurricane. Its goofy how they word it. Those boosters are quite, i have one just like it. That's not saying it won't work in your set up but it moves no where near as much air as my inline fan turned down to a quarter of the cfm.
Chances are the hurricane might be louder unless its turned down with a speed controller just because of the volume of air being moved
Completely agree with this quote, mixed flow fans like the hurricane one are designed to work against resistance such as filters and long lengths of ducting. Don't worry to much about brand, just make sure its mixed flow, centrifugal/centripetal design... The other design works well as cheap inlet fans...
