What was your first outdoor yield?

I didn’t think I’d do so well so I germinated a lot of seeds and now have 11 plants. Never would I have thought I’d be doing so well for my first time growing!

  2. I harvested about 3 pounds my first good outside grow.
And threw away 95% of it as it was ruined by Caterpillars and Powdery Mildew.
    :frown:
Green Cure for the Powdery Mildew
BT Thuricide for the Caterpillars and a bug zapper.

Nobody warned me so I warn you.

  3. Cure I spray from seedling-clone cutting all the way to harvest. PM is everywhere with millions of spore per cubic meter of air so it's a sure bet your outside plants have it. LOL how could they not so we spray for it.
Cure is nothing more then Potassium Bicarbonate. Used extensively on wine and table grapes for PM control.
Baking soda can be used in a pinch as it is Sodium Bicarbonate. Both work by raising the PH of the water it's mixed with high enough to kill the mildew but not so high as to harm the leaves.

BT Thuricide is used widely on tomato crops and is sold under many names. Dipel and Thuricide are the most common.
    Bacillus Thuringiensis.
Is what your looking for. It only kills caterpillars. Leaves all your predatory insects intact. Ladybugs, Praying Mantis.
Destroyed in a few hours of sunlight BT is the safest yet still effective agent we use that gets the job done.
Caterpillars are enemy #1 for Cannabis.
Moths are stopping by every night and leaving a clutch of eggs here and over there and she has friends. Many, Many friends. At harvest I had thousands of caterpillars hanging from my drying buds and they had crapped all through it and every dot of cattie crap molds. What a disaster I had. We destroyed nearly all of it.
For best results spray BT in the late afternoon. Start spraying as soon as sex show. We've learned the moths show up early and can infest the early buds and if we start treatment to late we'll have some damage. Not a lot but we don't want any.
Only mix what your going to use right now. Make 2 tiny batches rather then mixing half a gallon and finding a pint does it.
I use a 1 gallon pump style garden sprayer. You'll soon learn how much to mix and may find just a quart sized sprayer makes enough for your setup.

  4. That helps a lot thank you very much for all of the info. I have a natural bonide pesticide I use once a week but don’t remember the exact name of the product. And how many plants did you grow and how big did they get to get 3 pounds?

  5. Last year I averaged about 10 oz per plant outdoors.

  6. how many plants and how big did they get and what nutrients did you use?

  7. My first grow was outdoors and I ended up with 3.5 pounds from 4 plants. My biggest plant was 9' tall and gave me 2 lbs. I grow all high cbd which typically yeild a bit less.

The most I've ever gotten from a plant in a container is 12 oz. Put them directly in the ground for the biggest yeild.

  8. Impressive! The 9ft was in the ground I’m assuming? And Where do you get your seeds? And I definitely will grow in ground when I have the space but unfortunately I don’t at the moment.

Same patch of ground I've been growing in for over 5 years now. Just about the same number and size now as then.

  10. First grow outside in 5 gallon buckets I averaged 8 oz per plant. Biggest yielders were the short round bush like ones.

  11. The 9' plant was from some seed given to me by a friend. It's Harlequin likely crosed with Santa Cruz Haze.

I've made my own using tiresias mist, and I'm about to mix up some sts so i can reverse a branch or two on one of my girls and do a back cross as well as a self and a few out crosses.

I've traded seeds I make with a buddy that makes some.

Last year I vacationed in Humboldt and visited several dispensaries and bought some seeds.

But the best advise I can give about seeds is to learn the difference between an f1 and b4.

  12. First grow in 1978 Mexican bag seed.
1 plant gave me 12 ounces.
    Grown in ground.
Now I average 2 to 3 pounds per plant.
    Grown in raised beds.

  13. First grow 2016, With a "lot of research" and help from professionals and some from Grasscity Forums, very hard work, high stress, trials and tribulations. Growing isn't rocket science, but it IS Science and lots of it! Ended up with 26lbs with an average 2 lbs per plant. I use General Hydroponic 3 part nutrients. VermaFire for soil. I don't use them anymore. I brewed lots of tea, used various hardeners during flower. I used Azamax for Buffalo Leak Hoppers, Monterey Horticulture Oil for other predators, BT for caterpillars and natural predators that were on hand and some ladybugs. I always have treated my plant prophylactically for pests. My climate is very dry so I don't have to worry about Powdery Mildew. The product was outstanding. AND it has just kept getting better every year. I was very lucky, flying by the seat of my pants for it to turn out as great as it did. My advice to you. Research, Research, Research!! Read. There is lots of information of past posts on this forum. Take the time and search them. Good Luck

  14. Absolutely beautiful California sunshine grown cannabis!

  15. I like your set up. I’d definitely want to try something like this when I got the space.

  16. how many plants did you grow and what kind of nutrients did you use?

  17. I CANNOT WAIT to get to the point where I can make my own seeds. Definitely want to try to make some very fruity/sweet smelling crosses. Now, an F1 is if I crossed Blue Dream & Pineapple Express and called it Blue Pineapples, correct? But I’ve never heard of b4, what’s that?

  18. I’m trying to get like all of y’all! 2 to 3 lbs per plant? Crazy. What type of nutrients do you use?

  19. it seems like outdoor the average is about 2 lbs if you know what your doing. I definitely do a lot of research but still could definitely learn ALOT more. Like I wanted to train my plants but I only topped my plants once in fear I’d mess something up and have no harvest and I haven’t trained them at all. Definitely will do both next grow

  20. Nothing really. Unless the plant is showing it needs a boost.
I'm using some Growtek Monster Grow and some molasses. Only when needed. I think I've fed my plants 3 times since the middle of April when they were put outside.
