What vape should I get?

Discussion in 'Vaporizers' started by America11, Jul 23, 2015.

  1. I used to have a MFLB like two years ago, it was okay.

    What I need:
    - discreet/portable - will be smoking in my car sometimes (is there any smell/how long does it take to dissipate?)
    - minimal smell (gonna smoke in the bathroom (will have it all grinder up previously) but I have an anti weed roommate)

    Thanks!

  2. How much do you have to spend?

  3. a couple hundred

  4. For the price range of a couple hundred the Alfa looks like your best bet.

The Alfa is very portable and whatever smell there is should dissipate within 15-20 minutes after your session. If your in a car and blow out the window there should be almost no smell after ending your session.

  5. The MFLB perfectly fits your two main criteria of portability and minimal smell. Do you still have your MFLB, or if not, why did you get rid of it?

  6. Gonna check this out, do you recommend this over the Arizer solo (everyone tells me to get that)?
No, I do not have the MFLB anymore unfortunately and I gave it to one of my best friends because he needed it more than me and I owed him

I think for a few hundred bucks you'll land on a few good vapes. I am another person who would definitely vote for a Solo. Others rave about the Alfa, Pax 2, Crafty or it's bigger brother Mighty. Check out this site http://www.vape-nation.com/ if you got some free time, of course in addition to others comments and reading around here/FC.

Edit: I meant this site http://www.vapornation.com/vaporizers.html for a pretty decent selection. Either works.

  8. The Arizer Solo will give better flavor and slightly better vapor quality but with more draw resistance than the Alfa. The Alfa is much smaller than the Solo. It really comes down to your preferences.

  9. Narrowed my list to:

    - Pax/Pax 2 (read that it has many problems)
    - Arizer solo/air
    - Alfa
    - MFLB

^Still having problems with the site and I've never heard this before.

Many people are hyping Pax 2, does anyone have any experience with it?

After more research I trimmed it down to:

    - Pax / Pax 2
    - Arizer solo
    - MFLB

someone convince me why I should get the Pax, solo or MFLB

  11. Disclaimer that I haven't personally tried the Alfa.

Of the other three, if I had to own only one vape, I would pick either of the Arizer products (Solo or Air).
MFLB is an excellent on-the-go companion vape (but the Arizer is better for heavy or frequent use, in my opinion).
    The Pax sucks.

  12. Why do you feel that the Arizer is better than the MFLB and why do you say the Pax sucks (been hearing a lot of mixed reviews about it)?

  13. A lot of vapers don't like the pax, due to its conduction and constant cleaning. The form is appealing, but performance is lacking.

The solo is a very good beginners vape. It is easy to use, and relatively low maintenance. Out of the 3, the solo will have the highest quality vapor.

The mflb is one of my favorite vapes. It's a tough little bastard, and is pretty awesome for stealth tokes.

Any in depth info you want, go to fuckcombustion. The site is dedicated to vaping, and other harm reduction ways of intake.

  14. You're really pimping that vape, hillbilly, aren't ya.

To the OP, ya might want to go over to FC and check out the user reviews of portable vapes along with the Status. The reviews that they DO have on it are pretty negative from burning material to a very plasticky taste. Could be an older unit that they reviewed though. Looks to me like another Chinese made clone though.

  15. I do not, in fact, think the Arizer is better than the MFLB. The MFLB is a great little vape!

Rather, I said, if I could only own one vape, I would not choose MFLB. The reason is that I, personally, have a somewhat high tolerance, and I simply cannot stay as medicated throughout the day as I want to be, without needing to constantly recharge batteries. I have sometimes had the experience that I really want to get stoned, but both of my MFLB batteries were in the charger, so I ended up smoking, which totally defeats the purpose.

The Arizer Solo on the other hand (I don't own an Air yet, but from what I understand it is a similar design?) has a much longer battery life. You can actually get more than one session at a charge. And it can be used while it is recharging if necessary. So that is why I recommend the Arizer as a first/only vape: It can get me very high (as opposed to MFLB which can get me a little bit high, then I need to wait 4 hours while the batteries recharge).

I strongly dislike the Pax because I do not feel it was designed with medicine/health in mind, but rather to look high tech and sexy to iPhone owners. Since I switched to vaping for health reasons, I enjoy using vapes make from non-toxic materials such as wood, glass, etc. Additionally I did not feel the flavor of the Pax vapor was very good.

  16. Checkout the Flowermate its really good and not 2 expensive.

They are nothing more than a marketing company. The actual product is NOT manufactured in the US but rather in China. That doesn't necessarily make it a bad unit but to imply that it is a US made vape is not accurate.

I still suggest potential buyers to check out some other reviews like the ones over at FC.

Typically, when one pimps only ONE vaporizer in multiple posts like you have done, it is a sign of some shilling going on simply because for those that don't shill, they will offer up multiple options as there are many great vaporizers in the marketplace from which to choose.

I'm not stating that you are a shill but your posts are a bit suspect and as such, other reviews should be read in order to get a better perspective.

  18. THAT kind of defensive posture proves my point. No one would get that upset unless they had more invested in this product than just that of an end user.

It's amazing how manufacturers, retailers and marketing people shoot themselves in the foot around here. Never ceases to amaze me.

  19. Not saying it's what you should get, I am merely giving my experience with what I have and use a lot (especially the last month).
Staying with my father in law who's a cop while visiting home makes smoking hard as heck especially if you have to medicate at least once a day sometimes twice a day. However, having my Atmos R2 (after owning and using the Atmos Rx for 2 years) was a huge help!
Now it is not a true vaporizer for flowers as the very hot heating coil will combust the buds. So in a sense ins like an electric pipe. However..............reducing combustion is easy done and will return a few more hits. Basically once you figure that out, you will get nice cloudy hits and high from minimal bud amount. Also this vape pen can be used for (and I do use it for this a lot) concentrates like wax and bubble hash. Some people place a little glass disc over the heating element before adding their flower to prevent combustion. Unnecessary because now this also comes with an additional cartridge having the new heated ceramic disc (instead of the coil). When used with concentrates, the smell is minimal and slightly different than smoking a J for example. Also when you use flowers the smell is minimal and if you'd blow the smoke out of the car or into the bathroom duct, you are golden. When I use it I don't smell like weed (clothes) but my breath may for a little when I smoke flowers (but not concentrates) and a piece of gum takes care of that.
It takes me seconds to load it and maybe 1 minute tops to take all the hits I can get before its all gone. I usually chew on a piece of gum and go inside. But with flowers I'll chew on one gum and give it 5 minutes then go inside ........ I hope this helps
