Do you know the cause of your cervical pain? Whatever yoga you start, definitely be very careful and don't push yourself - obviously most of the inversions will be off limits - just don't do something if it feels painful or like it could cause pain. Trust your body to tell you if you should or should not be doing something. That said, Iyengar yoga could be good for you - its very controlled with an emphasis on proper alignment, which could be very beneficial for you. Yin yoga could be good too since it is about slow deep stretches making it maybe less likely to put yourself in a harmful position. Either way, talk to your instructor and make sure he/she knows whats up.
