I'm planning on getting a 250w cfl. I have an old mechanical timer that didn't work on an hid light. Then I heard you can only use electrical timers with his lights and mechanical timers with cfls. I tried the time on a regular house light and its not working. I need to know what type of timer I need before I buy the wrong light. And does a 250w cfl fit in a mogul socket?
Just buy a digital one off ebay I think you can run something like 1000w through the average digital timer - but it will say on the box/advertising i find the old analogue ones break real quick
That's the box says the cfl lights can only work with a mechanical timer Feliz Dual Spectrum Fluorescent 250W - Plantlighting Hydroponics
Just get a cheap grounded mechanical timer from Walmart. I use one on a 600w hps that works just fine. It worked well with my 68w cfl also.
