I have a 5x10 tent been running for years in my basement Been having issues with powdery mildew showing up on my plants last couple cycles. I have 4 oscillating fans in that tent, and I have been spraying Lost Coast Therapy. I feel like Lost Coast doesn't work like it used to anymore. Bleaching the entire tent between cycles doesn't work. The formula in the bottles of Lost Coast smell different too, I wonder if they changed the recipe. PM spots still shows up days after I spray it, it did not used to be like that. I'm just beginning week 4 flower now. Defoliated my plant's entirely all the fan leaves and any mildew spots I found. But I'm looking for better options. What would you spray now in week 4 flower? What would you do between cycles, some kind of gas? Sulfur? Etc
Tell us more . What is the humidity in the basement ? I get it 4 fans Is the tent Is air ever exchanged with the outside air ? Usually if the basement air gets exchanged you will never get molds. my advice is throw that spray away get the basement air moving suck it out a window outside bring in clean fresh air from the outside filtered use a furnace filter whatever you like . This should keep that power mold away . Just vent the basement once every two days. Then get the basement humidity down under 65 %. Power and other molds suck i had bud rot once cost me a lot . I never spray anything on plants . Pm loves air sitting never exchanged dark places temps in the 70f . Humidity never seems to be an issue with PM in my grows I had many harvest up in the 80 % range no molds at all .
This basement has a 5x10 grow tent on 1 side. TV, couch, carpet and etc other side. I do run a dehumidifier constantly and always in the 50-65% range. Temperatures between 70.-82. I run an 8 inch exhaust system in this 5x10 tent with a carbon filter but the air just gets exhausted outside of the tent into the rest of the basement The only thing I can think of is possibly exhausting the air through the dryer vent outside and disconnecting the dryer from the vent. Don't know how I'm going to do that with an 8-in exhaust system though since the dryer vent hole is smaller diameter than the 8 inch ducting I have.
Yeah pain in the ass. Is the furnace downstaris ? Open the up stairs windows turn the furnace fan on . It will suck up the air . Do this once a week . If you have that dryer hmm . Its not fun moving a dryer real pain . Shoot us a pic of the chimney in the basement if the furnace connects to it . Will figure a safe way for you
I agree with Bryan Oconner. Get fresh air exchange in the basement. IOW dont keep recycling tent air back into the tent. Also, lower your overall humidity a little too.
