I am going on holiday for 12 days on friday and have one small Purple widow plant(about 4"tall but it has LOADS of buds and it is growing noticably daily). It needs watering almost daily and is in a growbox under 150w HPS, i will take it out of the box when i go on holiday and just put it on the windowsill, but how do i keep it watered? 12 days is a hell of a long time to go without a watering and it will more than likely die. Try to set up some kind of wick system to water it when your away. Get a bucket fill with water and put it on your desk, then get some string (proper twined string that will absorb water not plastic stuff) and tie a pebble to the end of it n drop it into the bucket of water now lead the string down from the desk and into your pot. The sting should keep absorbing water and taking it all the way to your plant from the bucket (slowly but surly). got no personell experience with this as i tend to cancel holidays if ive got plants growing rather than let them die. But hey its better than nothing right? and ive heard ppl have used it to some effect in the past. Or get a trusted friend to water it for you. Good luck. ive been wondering this as well. There must be a better solution than a water wick. No offence its a good idea but i wouldn't turst the life of my plant(s) to it. any other suggestions. maybe a drip system?
