I have a dilemma..everyone I know has been dry,especially lately which sucks balls. So anyway I hit up this guy I use to kinda know & my friend came got my cousin an me an then went to go pick up this dude. After we dropped some chick off we went over to his house an chilled. He has this pitbull,very beautiful dog to an I <3 animals. This dog was wild,overly playful,jumping everywhere an would nibble on me (which hurt). Anyway this guy was playing with the dog but it was very rough like,he would punch it,the dog wouldnt cry an I don't think he was using all his strength but I felt it was still enough to hurt it. He would also pull the dogs jaw open an pull it back as far as he could which was fucking annoying to watch an also threw it on its back. Anyway me & my cousin are against animal abuse an felt uncomfortable about the whole thing so we kinda signaled each other to leave a bit early then we had planned. (Wanted to smoke more,chill,do stuff with um) so anyway aside from this I dont think hes a bad person just very ignorant. I feel bad for the dog & feel like this could def be a future pitbull kills owner situation,like no joke. My advice is should I call animal cruelty on this dude an lose one of my few hook ups or just leave it alone & never chill with him again??
Being like that with a pitbull causes aggressive behavior and tendencies and makes the dog look at you more as a playmate o rival rather than a leader. These dogs tend to become more aggressive than most and unpredictable in their behavior. I wouldn't report him but rather sit him down and lay it all out to him and see how he reacts. There are a lot of people who get pitbulls because it's the cool thing to do and do not learn how to properly train them and that is why they have the reputation they do because they are already intimidating enough from their looks.
I wasn't there, I can't say. I think that applies to everyone. None of us know how serious this was, whether or not it was just a man and his dog rough housing or a man actually intending to hurt his dog.
Idk I'm like very gentle when it comes to animals..not used to seeing someone play with them so rough especially in a manner of like punching them with fists but idk if its maybe normal to him & only he knows how hard hes really doing it..its just even if it wasnt that hard the dogs still somewhat young but Im tryna figure out if Im over thinking it maybe or possibly under thinking it..I cant tell..
Every dog that I know who was raised like that ended up biting someone and being put down because of a poor owner and trainer. I don't think you're over thinking it at all. If he wants to play with his dog he should be using toys and bones and not showing the dog it's okay to bite and nip at humans. Wrestling is fine because you sometimes have to pin a dog down to show you are the Master but you don't do it violently just hold him in one place while giving him the command to stay and don't let him go until he submits(you should also reward when he submits though). Like I said though I wouldn't report him, I would just talk with him and tell him to do some reading and learn how to properly train the dog.
I'd have to see it. I love dogs because I can wrestle with them. It's fun to grab them from behind and roll onto my back so I'm just holding their feet in the air...it drives my dog crazy. But I've never punched them or anything. Sounds like too much.
His dog his house. You can wrestle with pit bulls. Most large breeds love it. If the dog was malnourished, bruised and scarred i would worry. If the dog wasnt yelping or showing any signs of distress i dont see the problem
If the dogs doesn't seem scared its good. Ive seen my cousins pits and he treats them like that or even worse they seem happy as fuck.
Idk how much could be done depending on what he is doing to the dog if there's no visable cuts and stuff, its sad but when he gets bit hell know why you don't provoke a dog all the time.

My friend has a full grown Boxer that is overly playful, like it will punch you (or as close to a paw to the face is) wanting to play, and they full on wrestle with that dog. Him punching and throwing a PITBULL around without it whining or cowering in any way is no problem, but the opening of the mouth could make someone lose a finger...
guess I'll be a dramatic ass bitch over something I stand for..Im strongly against animal abuse an if I feel like something needs to be done I'l do it or at least ask advice so get the fuck over it,don't gota be a cunt man.. I play pretty damn rough with my dog too. I wrestle with him and throw him around, and he grabs my arms and legs like he would if I was another dog. I "punch" him too, but it's not hard at all, it wouldn't hurt a person let alone a dog. It's all in good fun, but he knows better than to rough house with other people like that. It's hard to say without seeing it, but the guy probably wasn't hurting the dog at all.
When I had a chocolate lab she loved to rough house. She was by no means "big" either. Think of how dogs play amongst themselves. It looks like they're fighting but they're not
idk I really hope so..everytime I heard the pound of a punch up against the dog it worried me then again even a light tap can make a noise so idk if it was hard or what,I guess if it was the dog wouldve let out a cry or whimper maybe, I just feel like the dogs already very hyper & bitey that it isn't good for him even if it was rough or not just cuz it might end bad for the owners..like if he becomes to used to nibbling hes smaller now but when he gets bigger his nibbles will hurt even more but I dont think Im gonna really put myself in this situation again anyway if it should happen though I'll tell him my thoughts specially if it becomes any rougher then it seems
