What do you guys put in your ride? or do you just take your car to jiffy lube and have the man do it.

  2. I've changed my own oil since I've been sixteen...

    Amsoil ASL series 5w30

    E3 Diamondfire Plugs

  3. Yea same here, i enjoy doing it too. Self satisfaction to know i did it right and nothing is gonna break on me down the road.

  4. I use Bosch plugs...sometimes NGK

and for the oil, I change mines with Mobil 1 either the 10/40 high mileage, or the 10/30

  5. OP, I'm with you on the oil, Castrol Syntec, love that shit. Change every 5,000 miles or so, which I can probably go further (lot of highway driving), and sometimes I stretch it out, but I tend to keep my cars 200,000+ miles, so I just take care of them on my own maintenance schedule. Seems to be working well.

As far as plugs, haven't changed mine yet, but going to soon. I usually check out the online forums to see which plug people have had good luck with in their specific car. Yours sound promising though. I prefer to spend a few extra bucks on something like plugs that you rarely change and can affect mileage considerably over the life of the plug.

  6. Bosch plugs, Mobil Synt S 5W-40 :smoke:

  7. Not as picky about plugs but I've been using Castrol for a lot of years. I haven't tried Syntec but I'm going to read up on it now. I also change my own oil in everything - cars, bikes, boat, lawnmower...
Two times that I can remember, I had my wife take her car to a jiffy lube place because I was too busy. One time the oil filler cap fell off a day or two later and made a mess of the engine compartment. The other time I checked the oil level afterwards and it was more than a quart low. Never again.

  8. ACDelco spark plugs
    Castrol High Mileage oil

Yeah Have a buddy who took his car in, they somehow didn't put enough oil in and about 5 miles down the road the oil light came on, so he turned around to go back and about a mile later the engine overheated and blew up. Ill never trust jiffy lube, EVER.

Hahah the autozone special, this is what i put in my 69 ford beater truck w/390ci. Its good enough if u change it often and i dont drive the truck often, it mostly sits.
