the title says it. i've had two failed grow attempts and the second one i thougth had a chance but i had one sprout that didnt mature and two seeds that didnt sprout at all and i cant think of why it happened. i had a 23 watt cfl over them 24/7. if anyone could give me like the ideal soil mixture that would be cool. i was using peat moss before and read that it was probably too acidic but yet i see people who have plants that are doing well on it. im confused....
peat moss, vermiculite, perlite 1:1:1 ratio. thats for a soilless mixture, youll be responsiable for all nutrients added, this is good because you dont have to figure in nutes that are already in the soil like you would for potting mix or time releesed stuff.
if you have a local nursary, check out their soil. if not, i would suggest looking for promix soil (find it at lowes, home depot) or scotts potting soil plus. i would recommend adding some perlite to the soil. good luck.
thanks for the replies.... i dont have a local nursery and i think the closest one is about a 30 minute drive.... lowes is 5 minutes away but they dont have the soils you suggested. what is the best one from this page? http://www.lowes.com/lkn?action=productList&function=search&categoryId=SOIL__SAND__COMPOST__MIXES_AND_AMENDMENTS.CATEGORY&topic=goShopping&bc=c im thinkin the flower and vegetable ones but im still not sure.
