Below is a list of my current grow gear. I'm looking to get some new kit so i can make the grow more efficient and get better yields. Can i get some suggestions of what i could get to make things better. 2 x 2 x 2 metre grow tent 4x 600w air cooled hoods 4x Wilma 4 pot systems (small, 11 litre pots) Air stones in each reservoir 3x 20w oscillating monkey fans 1x 6 inch extraction and carbon filter 1x 6 inch intake (could i use as a 2nd extraction?) Timers tent thermometer and hygrometer On my wishlist is: Water chiller (expensive and not sure how much difference it will make) water thermometer AC (way too pricey) plug in thermostat and possibly humidistat to control fans Carbon Dioxide regulator Bigger pots What do you suggest?
My tent is slightly smaller than yours (1.5m x 1.5m x 2m). Without a dehumidifier and ac my plants would be in sad shape, but I guess it also depends on your environment. I live in a mediterranean climate, so AC is a must for me.
Im in England and the tempratures should now be just about manageable but ye i think i'll need to manage my humidity when my plants grow
in England you shouldn't need ac. I would get cooltubes...(if you don't have them already)..will keep temp. at bay. get a ph and ec meter...(if you don't have them neither)
i think AC is just the dream buy to get a constant optimum temperature but nah ordinarily its not needed. I've got all my lights in cool tubes but i never used 4 in a line with this fan so gotta see how the temps work out still. Got ec meter and ph testers so i'm good on that front
You'd make a chiller the number 1 priority? I think a temp/humidity controller for the fan is a good idea but at the same time i'm not sure how necessary it is seeing as the extractiuon fan is linked to the cool tube lights so i figure its gonna need to be on all the time. Maybe it would be most useful for when the lights are off?
Cancel the co2 and make that intake another exhaust and let air intake passively. Do you already have a veg room? Cause if not, that’s what I’d work on next. A smaller room pushing less watts can double your yield.
i do have a dr90 grow tent and kit i was going to use for vegging in future. Might get a ds120 though instead as that'll fit a 16 pot wima system nicely Thanks for the ideas
IDK about the UK weather, but here I only have 4 months of very cold weather. So I must have a chiller. I don't know how you are running fans and filters with all those lights. So what I have is a controller set to come on and pump in outside air from under the house and out through the top of the tent. I don't run cool tubes I just move air. With the chiller temps can vary a lot as long as the roots stay cool. Co2 is a waste of money, research how much gain you get and you'll see it's not really worth it, plus you have to change the way air is processed or you just pump your Co2 outside. If you move a lot of air from outside you are getting the natural Co2 plus heat and humidity control. It's not for us small personal growers, maybe commercial guys. I liked what someone said about a veg tent as the next investment that will increase your production by keep plants in flowering mode constantly. This is my opinions and I'm a long way off from some of the growers on here, some guys are awesome growers. I what I said is what after trial and error and research has proven to work for me in my geographic location.
Turns out next thing I’m buying is an extractor. I actually sat down and put together a shopping list of about £800 worth of gear I see as critical to ensuring success no what the season. Chiller, fan, air and water heater, digital ballasts are what’s needed. Ac and CO2 are off the list for now Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
