i DEFINATELY agree with the kali mist recommendation! the ONLY thing i've ever smoked was the thai i used to get that smelled like pinecones in the mid 80s. the kali mist wasn't trippy like the thai was, but it was super energetic and extremely happy! instead of "tripping out on tunes" like i used to with thai, the kali made me clean my house and hum happy tunes because it totally wouldn't let me sit still. i like trippier sativas even if thhey're more paranoid.

kali mist had the best flavor i've EVER tasted in weed. it was exactly like crushed red pepper. YUM! i HAVE smoked durban poison and like the high, but the straight up black licorice flavor was disgusting and nearly made me puke. licorice is one of the worst flavors in the world for me.

thai (or haze) is just too fussy to grow indoors. it takes too longe and gets too big, it isn't practical. BTW, kali mist is considered to be a favorite of the ladies. if you ever have something to do that you keep putting off, KM will get you through it and make you have fun doing it. it has more happy energy than any sative i've ever smoked.

for a trippier high, i'd recommend cinderella 99 because it's super trippy like thai, but grows fast and small like an indica and has a nice floral scent and pineapple flavor. i can't wait untill i use a C99 splash male to pollinate EVERYTHING i have (all sativa dominant)

the relative of C99 known as super silver haze (the same genes as jack herer but in a different breeding order and a better cross) has won alot of awards, but i won't touch it because it likes to get skunky whereas C99 is much stealthier and more refined.

if you want "the best" take the time and energy to grow a serious sativa dominant strain. commercial dealers and growers won't do it because all they care about is making a fast buck. screw that... give up quantity for quality. actually getting high is 10,000 times funner than getting couchlocked!

C99 if you want to experience the world with brighter colors, more intense flavors and more "meaningful" sounds. trippy sativas take movies and music to a whole other plane. C99 is one of the most practical substitutes for real thai from all the reading and discussing i've done over the years. well... SSH might be a little better still, but it's skunky and skunking is an unforgivable indica sin in my book.

for what it's worth, i can't wait to see what pollinating spicy KM with trippy C99 does. WHATEVER happens, it won't couchlock, it should mature faster and be trippier than KM yet be less paranoid than C99. i'm also hoping for a spicy fruit (curry) flavor.

you might also look out for super haze (aka haze skunk) as it takes super fast maturing & commercial yielding 75% sativa skunk #1 and gives it a 50% dose of super trippy yet fussy growing haze (the best SMOKE in the world if it's anything like the pinecone thai i miss so much)

i have smoked skunk #1, but didn't like it. it was STILL too couchlocking like any indica, but hook it up with a nearly pure trippy sativa, and it can only improve BOTH strains for indoor grow potential & trippy sativa high. i'm growing some haze skunk too to see how it smokes and grows for myself and might also try the durban based variation called SADP X skunk #1 again as the 1st freebies i got didn't pop and i got a different looking baggie with my KM order. THAT strain should grow faster and more compact, but i bet the haze one is trippier.

hope something here helps. there are OTHER sativa dominant strains like NYC diesel that people go nuts for, but anything that smells or tastes a little like "fuel" just can't be top shelf by my standards. fruity or spicy are much better directions i think.

p.s. the ONLY "high" i've experienced similar to kali mist was the handful of shrooms i chomped at a concert. they weren't trippy at all as i expected. they were totally alert, but made walking home in the rain much more fun than it should have been! LOL smoking thai is closer related to taking acid, but it gives you body effects like a feeling that you're floating that acid doesn't.

golly do i ever love REAL hallucinogens! it's also the ONLY drug family that isn't addictive. don't confuse impulse control issues with true bichemical chaos caused by real addiction.

just saying "something is the best" but not saying WHY is totally useless. ANYONE who claims that ANY indica "is the best because it gets them totally wasted" is full of crap by MY STANDARDS.

when you make claims, you should back them up with facts, or at least define your opinion.

that's why chosing weed is next to impossible. everyone is too lazy to go into details, or they go into the useless ones like what % of seeds were viable and what their sexes were, how long it took, what the nutrient deficiencies were, how much it yielded, show a dozen photos of the grow... EVERYTHING in fact except how a given strain actually SMOKES!

that's THE MOST IMPORTANT THING too.

the "perfect strain" also comes down to personal preferance in the end, thats why just naming a strain doesn't give any information to the person wanting to know, what he needs is a bunch of strains explained to him in detail, so he can see which suits him best,

i am not going to throw out a strain, because i don't really have much knowlege on any of them, however, i just wanted to say that i agree with this statement.

My fav (although supposedly not the best yielder) is Sour Diesel. I was lucky enough to have a supplier who was growing two years ago. Everything else he grew (William's Wonder, Strawberry Cough, Warlock) didn't compare.

And to Pnaut, IMHO good sour diesel does not smell of actual diesel fuel (I do not understand why everyone says that, do you know what fuel smells like?) it has an incredibly strong citrus/skunk smell.

 

yes... i DO know what skunks smell like and my thorough hatred of all things indica is so deep that i'd rather go with "fruity/floral" C99 which has never won any awards that i'm aware of instead of it's highly praised and awarded sibling super silver haze because it gets skunky. just the odor alone makes ME angry as it reminds me of all the crappy indica sheeeeeit i've had to endure the past 23 years.

skunky = the evil enemy that must be destroyed in my opinion. i'm DEFINIATELY opinionated about weed, no doubt, and adding that info when talking about weeds helps others understand where i'm coming from so they can weigh my tastes against theirs. THAT'S why i'm all for long detailed explainations. ANYONE that is an indica lover is full of BS to me. i ONLY want that energetic trippy high i used to get from thai and hate 99.999999% of the commercial couchlocking ripoff sheeeeeeeit i've smoked since. that's where i'm coming from.

whoever said blueberry makes a good point though. THAT strain appears on more people's top 10 lists than ANYTHING else, but fortunately, haze is just a few votes behind it, so i feel at least partially redeemed as a sativa only lover. LOL

DEFINATELY check my best strains according to EVERYONE thread out. i tried to present info that is unbiased with it by statistical analysis as well as cannabis cup results along with the partially broken OG forums strainbase as well as a bud shop smoke report guide for a 4th opinion even.

if you want to learn ANYTHING about weed, you have to do a sheetload of reading or hopefully run into someone actually willing to talk about the EXPERIENCE a specific strain offers.

please oh please of puhhhhhhhhleeeeeease people... less talks about growing procedure and pics... more info about smoking and effects! a strain can be mostly awesome too with just one thing that makes it not worth seeking. i feel that way about durban poison which has awesome effects but the most disgusting licorice flavor that nearly made me puke when i smoked it. if i were to say that is the "best strain in the world" i would totally be doing a disservice to anyone who despises that flavor. i'd still endure it again for the buzz, but i wouldn't buy it to grow.
