WHAT!!!! River Hydroponics?

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by hashASHtown, Mar 14, 2007.

  1. Me and my dogg were outside peeeping this river right. Now don't get us wrong, we aren't stupid. We know that with hydropnics you need to feed with nutrients. Would dirty stream water supply the nutrients necessary to grow this dank ass shit? Well the plan other than that is to put a netcup in a a styrofoam ring that is placed in the water, so that way it moves up and down with the river.
Any ideas suggestions thoughts- hit us up

  2. You'll need a counter balance or she'll tip over. But that's ok cause she'll drown first.

  3. Good Luck that's gonna have to be one big ass raft when its grown up.....

  4. Your in the Advanced forum area little buddy, you need to make your way over to the retarded forum section for some help. LOL. 2 much hash dude.

  5. Come on dude, cut him some slack. At least he is thinking outside the box. That's what keeps growing alive. Trying new things and seeing what works.

I do agree that it is probably not going to be the easiest project to pull off, and it is going to be hell of obvious just floating out there in the water.

But, as far as river water having enough nutrients. I would say definately. But, you have to be careful what is up stream. The water could also contain some nasty shit that you don't want interacting with your plants. If you have campagrounds, or factories, or parks, or construction sites, etc. You are going to want to avoid the spot. Pretty much anything that might contaminate the water.

I would say good for you for thinking outside the box, but you may want to find a more conventional spot to grow.

Good luck, and if you do decide to do it, I would love to see a journal started.

  6. In the River or within 50' of it and the Muskrats will eat it all......they love the weed

  7. 1)build a canal
    2)build a shed
    3) channel the canal through the shed

EDIT: now that I think about it.....thats a bitchin idea!! I think I'll try that near my friends cabin.

  8. I think the whole point of hydroponics is you get to do it indoors where you control every aspect of the plants environment. If you want to do it outdoors, then just do an outdoor grow.

  9. well, you complete control from growing indoors, but you can completely control an indoor grow with soil too. the main advantage of hydro/aero is faster growth rates.

  10. well, to this first ass... If you knew what hydroponics were, you would know that my plant won't drown because it is being airated by the running stream. To the second ass... you're to stupid to think of anything like this, that's why you're ragging on me instead of growing blueberry buds like me son. To the third ass... I don't burn, my blueberry blunts do.

  11. fuck yea man! dont let anyone tell you your wrong, if you think its a good idea, sit down with a blunt a paper and a pencil, write down exactly what you'll have to do, a list of materials, and detailed instructions, i could think of a few ways this could in fact work, only problem i see would be getting the roots air, i dont know, just +rep for stickin up for yourself, i hope you figure this shit out and show asses # 1, 2, & 3 whats up!

  12. Thankyou designated toker. This plan, in fact, will not be initiated until I am much older and have a safe place to do this at. It was really just an idea that we thought might be possible, so we decided to see what the rest of these potheads/growing entrepreneurs thought. But people want to hate on a ***** with inovative ideas, so let them stay in first gear, I'll be pimpin' it in 4th..... pinned bitch

  13. whoop whoop, take the chevy to tha fuckin levy, my man.

  14. haha, fa sho... Where you from man, I was just reading your grow journal. Nice shit - dissapointing yield, I think it is lack of light

  15. i reside in delaware. yea not only was the light an issue but i flowered the plant at an early age. gonna be givin it another try sometime soon though!

  16. yea im " the dog" how are you guys . . . we had a good idea man, cant wait to actually try this shit some day man. and to all the haters. ummm keep hatin

  17. If supplying air to the roots is a problem like everyone is saying, I was thinking of an idea.

You'll have to keep the plant stationary for this, it doesn't have to float down the river anyways. So, you have the raft thing tied down to a certain spot, and a foot or two upstream from your plant, put some rocks in to make a waterfall.

This would probably make sure that alot of air gets to your roots.

If I wasn't clear at all, tell me and I'll try to explain again.

  18. Hey dude, I'm the ass that said it will drown, and it will. MJ is not a water plant so river.stream water doesnot contain enough air for MJ, but if you ever get the project off the ground you can prove me wrong. Oh, I think I do know a bit about hydroponics check out my hydro grows before you call me an ass again if you please.
