    Some people do that from time to time, it's just a different way to hit the joint I guess. But you don't need to roll a joint to smoke out of a bong/pipe. :p

    Pipes smoke is hotter and harsher, but they're better for you than a joint. Bubblers are a good spot in between.

    I own pipes and bongs so I don't have to roll joints. I'd be pretty pissed if I had to roll a joint every time I wanted to smoke a bowl

    Usually a person puts the roach of a joint into a pipe/bong so that they can continue to enjoy it w/o burning their fingers (if they didn't roll it w/ a crutch). I've never seen a person actually put a whole joint into a pipes/bongs.
