Need advice on what material to use..... I've got a grow closet set up, and nearly finished. I've still got a bit of light leaking at the front double doors. I'm thinking of using velcro to stick some material up across the front area, so when the doors are closed there's no light leaking out the cracks... What would be a good material for this..... I need it to be light proof and , and i don't want the light to make it too hot (no fires)..... ANyone got an idea of what i could use...
well ive found that they have this foam strips that have sticky stuff on one side... and that when i put them where the leaks were it blocked out the light.. and didnt interfere with anything
Do yo mean weather stipping..... Because i've already lined the front of the cabinet and i'm still getting light leaks.... I would put up mylar at the front but not sure what the effect of the hot light will have on it being so close, as it's a fairly small wardrobe....
hmm... there isnt anything else i cant think of really.. you could try and use the rubber type of stripping.. that they use for keeping water out and what not.. other than that.. i have no idea what else
A roll of foam tape would work.....or just use dark masking tape or duct tape. some foil might work too
foil tape the crap outta the inside where is leaking, the stuff works great. a good way to do it is to open the door ways and foil tape all around the edges of the where the door closes, so you have an overlap of .5-1" or so, you can do the same for the doors, just close the one with the overhang first and then the other, bam! door leakage fixed! dunno if i explained that clearly, but it works great for door leaks
mylar can withstand any temps that wont kill your plants, i think ive heard it can withstand up to 300F (its suposedly made of plastic but i dont know much about that). But i would say foil tape is probably easier and cheaper and can withstand very high temps also.
