What light for veg

  1. I plan on only having 3-4 plants and before i use the hps for flowering and want a good light for veg. Should i use a 400-600 wat conversion mh light or one of those t5 setups. Im buying a light this week so i could really use some info on what i should get.

  2. If your only doing four plants just but a 4' 4 bulb T5. You dont need a ballast and they run way way cooler than Mh.

  3. i agree with az on t-5's. i used a mixed spectrum for veg. they're also good for starting clones.

  4. I vegged with t5's. I'd get the 8 bulb if you plants are going to get wide/bushy. I started with a 4, then had to get an 8.

I got the t5 with 8 builds. 6 blue bulbs and two red going 18/6. Plants look well and turn into monsters in just a short time.

  6. Do you think/find the two red bulbs makes a positive difference when used in vegge?

  7. I plan on putting the t5 in a 2'7 by 2'7 tent isn't 4 feet to big for just 3-4 plants?

  8. You can never have too much light for your plants. Think about it; more light=faster growth the less plants you have. Plants don't have to compete as hard for their share of lumens, i.e. they can get more light for themselves possibly doubling the growth rate.

  9. Will mh be fine because i was planing this in the future for 4 vexing plants under at5 in a 2x2 tent. or 2'7x2'7

  10. Ummm...yes you do...the difference is the ballast for a florescent is usually built into the fixture, so it's not a separate piece...

Yea I seem it have fuller plants. It could be from experience but I believe having both types of bulbs but with majority in veg spectrum gives the plants a more complete energy source.
