I went on a latenight walk and ran into this. I can't identify snakes for shit, but I'm curious. What do you think it is? These pictures are the best I could get. Wasn't trying to get too close. I'm not afraid of snakes.. but if I don't know what kind it is I'm gonna play safe Oh and a close up picture of a bug I took earlier today, just cause I thought it was cool because you could really see the curls on the antennas Found in western KY, by the way
I wanna say a gardner snake.... But im not that good at telling which snakes are which, so i might be wrong.
It might be haha. But I've never seen one that big. I didn't think to get the full size of the thing from afar, I just wanted as close of a shot as I could get. But this thing was pretty long That's not blood under it, just a leaf and some rain water. I did walk like 15 feet down the road to find a dead fucking possum on the sidewalk. I didn't bother getting a picture of it. I fucking hate walking by those things because my mind gets paranoid and thinks "if that fucker isn't really dead he's gonna jump up and bite you and you'll get all kinds of diseases"
That looks like a black rat snake to me. But it's definitely not a viper, so it being native to Kentucky makes it harmless by default.
