What is your car history?

  1. Some I wish I kept others I was glad to see go.....

    1967 Pontiac Firebird
1969 Chevy Chevelle semi pro street
    1983 Chevy Cavalier
    1968 AMC Javalin 343
    1967 Pontiac Firebird with a 65' Corvette L84 375hp 327 fuel injected engine!
    1993 Ford Ranger 4cyl
    1999 Dodge Dakota V8 Sport
    1995 Chevy Caprice 9C1
1978 Datsun 280Z(last year of that body style) with built Chevy 350 small block 400hp+.
1996 Lexus SC300 swapped 400 small block Chevy T-56 combo
    2003 Jaguar(biggest P.O.S. ever made)
    2005 Chrysler 300c Hemi sedan

  2. What's wrong with a jag

  3. Found On Road Dead

  4. I was just going to ask the same question given that I actually have a couple of them myself, including from the model year described...while I wish the X-type was a little more powerful, it has been a perfectly functional car for use in shitty weather (the AWD is quite decent).

  5. As for the Jaguar....it is the worse thing FORD ever made. YES the Jaguar X-Type is a FORD for those that are not familiar with them. I can turn a pretty mean wrench and I hated to even think about having to do something to it. The Ford engine was a good enough engine, Ford Duratec V6( same block as used for the 2.5 and 3.0 engine). Could have used a little more power though. Sadly Ford decided to make a small change to the Duratec used in the Jags. That change was VVT and moving the water pump to the back of the engine and was belt driven off the cam on the front cylinder bank. If you hear as much as a squeak from the water pump belt tensioner get a new tensioner ASAP! Mine locked up, broke the pulley car over heated for 10 minutes in 20 degree weather while I was trying to get off the highway to a safe place with my kids and blew a head gasket. would have cost more to do a head gasket job than replace the engine. Prior to this A/C compressor locked up and broke the serpentine belt. It takes a truly special asshole of an engineer to design that car the way they did. Never have I fought so hard to replace a belt in my life. You would think they would use a common a/c compressor from a Taurus or something...nope a/c compressor is special to the X-type and Lincoln LS. Mine was a 5 speed, a clutch replacement is a 17 hour job at a transmission shop! Radiator ...same thing pain in the ass to replace ....have to pull it out the bottom of the car. Oh and the transfer case has a gasket that once it fails the fluid in the transfer case leaks out and the TC dies, it's not rebuildable so you either buy a factory new unit or take the risk of a used one. Let's not take into account the bugs in the electricial system, the melted headlight connectors etc.

  6. i've owned tons of cars. my favorites were my bmws and my amc eagle.

a starion eh? i've never even seen one IRL. i bet it was pretty fun to drive.

nothing wrong with the older ones, before the company was acquired by ford.

  7. It sounded nice and probably would have handled well on tires that weren't dry rotted to hell.
I always wanted one so traded my celica on a whim and it ended up being junk I should have fixed it but I needed a daily...I really want another one tho They are as 80s as a car can get lol.
Even the door handles and seat belts said "TURBO"

  8. (Sold) 1998 Nissan Quest minivan - It was two tone, purple and gray. The dash was in KPH, because my dad had bought it in Canada prior to moving to the NE. Great for high school though, carried a lot of people around. We sold it to a local painter, and my dad claims to still see it driving around every once in awhile! we sold it with 229K kilometers.

(Sold) 1998 Suzuki GSXR 750 - Never crashed, rode it 8 months. Tons of fun, but a complete death trap. I sold it after 8 months of ownership, that was my only form of transportation and winter was coming, so really I had no choice.

(Sold) 1997 Toyota Corolla - Most dependable little car I've ever had, and super easy to work on. Parts were cheap, and I could always find used parts at pick-n-pay junk yards. I put a little over 100K miles on this car, sold it in perfectly working condition with 230K miles on it, and still got $2,000.

(Sold) 2005 Nissan 350Z 6MT - Very fun coupe, there's nothing like going through the gears on a back road. I put a decent amount of money into this car, which you will never get back by the way. I moved North so it was time to get something that can handle the snow. Sold this to an Iraq Veteran who had just got back from two tours, I gave him an awesome deal, and I bet he had a great time in that car.

(Sold) 2011 Range Rover Sport Autobiography - This SUV could go anywhere! I took this thing through deep wet sand with all my in-laws in the back, and a power line trail going through Vermont. Most of the time those SUVs don't get used for those type of things, but I didn't spend all that money to drive on pavement all the time! The warranty was running out, and I had just had one air strut replaced, at no cost to me. It was time to get rid of it. Never own a Land Rover without a warranty, it's well worth the extra cost.

(Current) 2015 Toyota Corolla - Yes, I bought another one! The 1997 proved to be a great car, so why not get another one? The newer model has some nice modern features like heated seats and bluetooth, but I mainly got it to commute, since the averages 30 mpg.

(Current) 2015 Audi S4 - First Audi I've ever owned, and its a quick car for sure. All wheel drive and a supercharger makes me smile :) I'm still getting used to this one, it handles unlike anything I've owned, and the dual clutch shifts are insanely fast. Upgrades will come within the year, another 50-75 HP I'm thinking will be perfect.

I've purchased all these cars with hard work, including my first car. So why did I buy a Nissan Quest minivan? because I knew the condition of it, my dad always took care of it. Work your ass off, put in the effort, smoke some cannabis, and make it happen!

  9. I have one car, but a new Range Rover is waiting for me.
    Somewhere in parallel universe :)

First vehicle i ever bought was a beat 240sx s13 6 months after i turned 15 for use as a field car. Ran that into a tree about a month later due to bad choices and alcohol. First car when i got my liscence was a 73 monte carlo with the 350 and the 3spd manual. I inherited my great grandfathers 69 c10 single cab long bed which i still have, and am in the process of rebuilding a 454 out of a chevelle to put in it, afteri sold the monte carlo i had a 97 jeep wrangler with the 4cyl 5spd stick for a short while, motor went in that so i bought a impreza wrx which my mom made me sell after i got into some trouble with the law and bought my current DD, a rotbox 97 chevy blazer. I also own an 89 mazda rx7 turbo ii which is my pride and joy, and a 24 valve cummins 2500 which i keep as a farm beater since ive tried and cant kill it.

  12. I wanted a new GMC (Same as Silverado) Denali 2500, but test drove it and the "B" Pillar was too far forward for my liking. Just didn't like looking out the driver's side window and seeing the edge of it. This only applies to the new style as the pre-2014's didn't have this problem. I was disappointed because I really wanted it. :(

  13. 2001 Pontiac grand am. 2010-2012

    2002 ford Taurus. 2012-2013

    2009 ford fusion 2013-2016

    2009 subaru impreza 2016-current

Honestly all were good cars besides the Taurus

  14. 1993 Oldsmobile 88 Royale - had it for a couple years. I was a kid. I don't even remember what happened but I think I wrecked it.

1994 Oldsmobile 88 Royale - had it for a couple years.. I was a kid. Sold it to a homie of mine. These cars really werent too bad at all. That 3.8 liter series II engine can certainly pull.

1996 Chrysler Concorde - had it for a couple of years... I was a kid. I dont even remember what happened to it

1996 Honda Civic - had it for a couple of years..

2005 Jeep Renegade - had it for 2 years. Really not a bad car at all

2004 Mazda Miata - Got it off craigslist and traveled a few hundred miles to get it. This car was a game changer. I was always interested in cars in general.. but this thing started a downward spiral into obsessing over sports cars. I loved this thing. Had it until I needed to get a car which would cope with the serious winter weather of where I was living..

2011 Audi TTS - This thing replaced the Miata. It was a load of fun, had it for a few months before a sad turn of events involving a bridge and a concussion.

2012 Audi TTRS - Had this thing the last 3 years. I love the engine. Turbo 5 cylinder is oodles of fun. Just too good to be trapped in a chassis that isn't focused. I still have this car but I don't do much with it.

2004 Mazda Miata - I bought this thing for my wife.. really sweet car. Amazing color. Too bad it got totaled in a fender bender a few months after purchase

2011 Porsche Carrera GTS - This thing is.... how shall I put it... its the most special car I have owned. I got this spring. I was supposed to be waiting to buy it for myself for my 35th birthday this fall but after watching the market I knew it was time to go ahead and get one. It's unspeakably good. It's not about speed or numbers.. its about feel. And this car has it in spades. This thing begs to be driven. It urges the driver to push further and to improve skill. It's just tremendous
