What is topping, pruning, and supercropping?

  1. I think I only know what topping means, which is cutting off the top to introduce more colas\buds?

  2. Yep, you've basically got the idea.

With topping, you clip off the new growth to create multiple main colas.

Pruning is more the idea of removing excess leaves or branches, but this is a bit controversial as many people think that the stress caused and the leaves lost outweigh the benefits.

Finally, supercropping is where you crush some of the branches in a specific location in order to create a bend, effectively training the branches and adding excess bud sites. I'm not experienced with supercropping though, so you may want to get a better explanation from someone who has actually done it.

  3. There are great stickies full of the info u want at the top of each forum.
I believe the info u want is in the Advanced growing forum.

  4. supercropping? i think you mean HST (high stress training) it is in fact where you take a branch and bend it until it snaps, but not too much that it cant repair itself, if done right it will make new bud sites around where this is done and forces them to grow faster
